DEP Cover Of "Jesus Christ Pose" Online
New Jersey-bred maniacal metallers DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have posted their cover of SOUNDGARDEN's classic "Jesus Christ Pose" on their official MySpace page. The track comes off the band's upcoming iTunes-exclusive digital download EP, "Plagiarism", due on June 13.
Commented the band: "SOUNDGARDEN, man. I'm talking about glory days glass shattering Chris Cornell, not this easy listening slop he's got going on now. Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, Chris Cornell, Ben Shepherd.... whew! Remember that shit?! That time period was the jam. Shit like that is hard to find now. Anyhow, this is our little homage if you will to a great band from a great time that was influential to all of us."
Other tracks featured on the EP include new versions of DILLINGER classics "Unretrofied" (radio edit) and "The Perfect Design" (live), plus "Wish" (NINE INCH NAILS), "Angel" (MASSIVE ATTACK), and "Like I Love You" (JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE), all recorded and mixed by guitarist Benjamin Weinman on his laptop in his bedroom.
THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN are currently writing material for the group's fourth studio LP, the follow-up to 2004's "Miss Machine". The writing process has been stymied, as Weinman's been sidelined for several months due to surgery on his arm. The band are also preparing for the release of their "Miss Machine" DVD. The disc will reportedly contain all "Miss Machine"-related material, including all the music videos made for the record, behind-the-scenes footage and a live video from the "Miss Machine" touring cycle.
THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will will be supporting AFI during their inaugural North American tour for their new record beginning on June 13 in Montreal, Quebec. This summer tour will also include NIGHTMARE OF YOU and be making stops in major cities across the country. In addition to their dates with AFI, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will be doing several headlining shows with label mates DYSRHYTHMIA in tow.

Chris Cornell Sues Ex-Wife
Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell is suing his ex-wife, Susan Silver, alleging she conspired to divert money that belonged to Cornell to other Soundgarden band members. The lawsuit also claims that Silver held his library of music, lyrics and two Grammys hostage. You can read more and check out the court documents from TMZ.com.
Audioslave Finish Writing Material For 3rd Album
MTV.com reports: During Saturday's (Oct. 29) performance at New York's Madison Square Garden, AUDIOSLAVE frontman Chris Cornell told the crowd the band is finished writing all of the material for its third album. The group then played, for the first time, one of the tracks that'll make the LP. Cornell said the song was still untitled, and even had its lyrics written down on the stage so he wouldn't forget them. "I only wrote them last week," he said.
AUDIOSLAVE is currently in the middle of its first major North American tour since the release of their sophomore album, "Out of Exile", which finds the band headlining arenas on its own for the first time.
AUDIOSLAVE did a short run of North American dates just before "Out of Exile"'s May 24 release.
As on that tour, AUDIOSLAVE is playing songs from its members' previous groups, SOUNDGARDEN, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and TEMPLE OF THE DOG.
The band is joined on the current jaunt by openers SEETHER and KASABIAN.
Chris Cornell Q&A
Travis Hay of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer caught up with Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell and asked what the possibilities of a Soundgarden reunion were. "You know I don't know where the motivation to do so would come from and the longer we're not together I have a harder time imagining where that motivation might come from," he said. "I don't think there are too many rock bands in history that can look at the beginning and middle and ending of themselves and see what I see when I think of Soundgarden. I think from the beginning through the middle and the end it was such a perfect ride and such a perfect legacy to leave. It's almost like we sealed the lid and said this is Soundgarden and this is its lifespan and put it out there and it looks really great to me. I think getting back together would take the lid off that and then could possibly change what to up to now to me seems like the perfect lifespan of the band. I can't think of any reason to mess with that. Everyone in the band is doing other things musically and everyone in the band is very proud of Soundgarden. To answer your question, probably not."
