Background
It all began in 1991, the first of an unholy trinity of demos was complete. The young lads knew they had started something dark; something evil; something out of this world. They didn't disappoint with the release of their debut album 'The Principle of Evil Made Flesh' in 1994 on the label Cacophonous. The full length CD was a menagerie of gothic keyboards, metal riffing and Vampyric imagery. In other words the ultimate hammer horror soundtrack.
Drawing from an incredibly infinite list of influences, including the likes of Bathory, Celtic Frost and Diamanda Galas, and also the literary genius of Lord Byron, Sheridan LeFanu, Friedrich Nietzsche, Bram Stoker and Charles Baudelaire, Cradle Of Filth have produced albums of ever increasing quality. Soaring, sonic masterpieces that envelop you and take you away into the darkest depths of the collective Cradle mind. A dreamlike place full of legend, myths and Vampyres.
With 10 years in the past, Cradle Of Filth only have the future to conquer. Their recent concerts have built a fan base they never dreamed of. They truly have withstood the test of time.

Cradle Of Filth Issues Tour Update
Cradle of Filth vocalist Dani Filth has posted the following North American tour update online:
"Ahoy ye abhorrent landlubbers!
"Our royal Ship of Fools has once again crashed upon the welcome rocks of America, only to find it in the steely grip of one of the worst winters on record. Everywhere are freezing, once-scorching desert towns reduced to frozen tundras. Even the tumbleweed in the streets is rolling frozen, and everywhere there are queues and chaos.
"On our first day off Countess Alkaline (our new keyboardist/backing singer), somehow managed to get locked inside a Best Buy store when [the] power was suddenly cut off, and between Houston and Dallas the going on the interstate was so bad due to the ice and blizzard, that the traffic had to halt mid flow. In fact, the Dallas show was close to being cancelled due to attendance fears, indeed on arrival the whole road to the venue was frozen over with a glassy sheet of black ice.
"I had to use my luggage as a makeshift bobsleigh just to get to the door before it was salted! That said it did make for a surreal few days with both the Houston and Dallas shows being really intense affairs and the fans diehard. All the bands on this Creatures From The Black Abyss tour are awesome live too, Turisas, battle metal's most heathen, having played with us for a one off in Mexico City a few days before, airing material from their latest album' Daniel Lioneye make for an eclectic mix of black metal and hardcore with a manic spin (two members moonlighting from gothwampas H.I.M), whilst main supports Nachtmystium are hook laden and dirty and occult ridden thrash through and through.
"So imagine having to play after that lot! Still, the show has only just begun, so people are just beginning to acknowledge one another and teething troubles are still being plucked at. And 'the Crewdle' (our stalwart band of sea-hardened lackeys) are outdoing themselves with the handling of the stage show each and every night, building the laboratory that will feed the monsters. Indeed, the first day in Houston saw the band muck in with some scenery painting, I myself managed to pebble-dash someone's Mustang tailgate, as the wind was pretty erratic and I was out spraying Geoff and Jane our touring skeletons.
"Unfortunately, both some of the Crew(dle) and the band have contracted some sort of stomach virus in Mexico (myself included), rendering the topic of conversation these past few days to who has cramps and who doesn't, who has poo-ed the most times and with which consistency and people fart-testing their deepest fear- that of shitting oneself on stage or in bed. Fortunately myself I have since been three days solid."

Nightfall Comments On Show With Cradle Of Filth
Nightfall has announced it will be supporting Cradle of Filth live on April 8th at the Fuzz Club in Athens. Member Efthimis Karadimas has commented on the upcoming performance:
"It's been a long time since our last show. It is a great chance to perform our latest release Astron Black & the Thirty Tyrants (Metal Blade records) live from start to end. It’s gonna be like a concept appearance in the spirit of ancient Greek tragedy play. I am glad that the promoters accepted it without pushing for more time on stage. At this moment it is important to present this very album without any references to the older stuff and it would be impossible to do if we had to play alone. After all, Astron Black & the Thirty Tyrants is the reason why Nightfall are here right now."
Additional details on the show can be found here.

Cradle Of Filth Comments On Canceled Show
Cradle of Filth has issued the following statement about the band canceling a show in Ecuador:
"Everyone involved with the band, and especially the band themselves are deeply distressed over the cancellation of our show in Equador this Friday. This is the second time we have had to pull out of a concert in Equador (the last cancellation being due to airport closure as we were circling the runway!). Unfortunately this time has been due to several reasons, including severe weather conditions stranding half the band's crew, deep 'contractual' problems, plus flight-booking f**k-ups.
"It is a regrettable situation to be in, but unfortunately an impossible one at this particular time to rectify. Our sincere apologies go out to all the fans we have disappointed by this very well thought out decision, the band feeling even worse about it as we are all stuck in cold, redundant limbo for two days.
"As for the rest of our South American tour, all other shows are definitely on, the first being on the twelfth at the Teatro Metropol, in Bogotá, Colombia. This very Sunday. We can't wait, though once again, I 'd like to apologise to all our loyal, disappointed fans in Equador. We are so pissed off that this has had to happen.
"All the very best, A deeply annoyed Dani Filth."
Cradle Of Filth Letting Fans Pick Next Video
Cradle of Filth has already released a video for the song "Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)," and the band has now decided to let fans choose which track from the new album "Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa" will next be turned into a music video.
Front man Dani Filth explains, "we are really happy with the way that the first video, for Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned), but couldn’t decide which track would best so we thought we’d let the fans decide as we trust their judgement totally..."
A poll has been set up at this location, which lists all the tracks from the album. The final choice will be made at the end of this year with the new video being filmed in January.

Dani Filth Issues Band Update
Cradle of Filth front man Dani Filth has issued the following blog about the band's current and upcoming activity:
"Dear readers, belated happy Hallowe'en! Well, has the endless wait been worth it? The album has been out a fortnight in Europe and a week in the US and has garnered all kinds of remarkable press, from the utterly brilliant to the shit and insane. I love it. The circus starts again. At least on the front of it it seems that again we have divided peoples opinions. Love/hate, loathe/adore, suckle/chastise us; it's all so deliciously Catholic.
"Firstly let me apologize for the slight delay people have had to endure for the limited edition box-set, I know it's not cool, but the production was held up by all kinds of issues, so all I can do is to offer you my sincerest regret. And a test tube full of my love juice.
"Also, the limited edition T-shirt does what it says on the tin, it is solely limited to the special edition box-set. Our merchandising company AMP mistakenly put it on our site for sale last week, but have since, on our request, taken it down and fed it to bone-crushing lobsters. Well, what the Devil has been happening in the Cradle camp of late? What tall stories have I to tell? More...
