San Diego, CA's Cattle Decapitation is planning a series of limited edition vinyl releases for 2014 under the banner "Decade of Decapitation "to celebrate 10 years of releases on Metal Blade Records.
The band's entire Metal Blade discography: "To Serve Man" (2002), "Humanure" (2004), "Karma.Bloody.Karma" (2006), "The Harvest Floor" (2009), and "Monolith of Inhumanity" (2012) are all being prepared in lavish gatefolds for release.
The colors, handpicked by the band, reflect the concept or color scheme behind each album. Fans will also have the opportunity to pick up a collectable box that comes with an exclusive T-shirt, both with brand new art from longtime Cattle Decapitation cover artist, Wes Benscoter.
Additionally, "To Serve Man," the band's debut full-length, and sophomore effort "Humanure" have been remastered specially for this release. Each vinyl will be released separately in the coming months. Pre-orders for "To Serve Man" are available now at this location. More...
The Obscene Extreme festival will be taking place from July 16th - 20th, with ticket information available at this location. Now the festival has announced several new additions to the lineup, including Brutal Truth and Morgoth. The festival organizers comment:
"Few bands represent Obscene Extreme as fully as US grind legends Brutal Truth – they've weathered break-ups and line-up changes, but never once have they halted in their mission to keep pushing the bleeding edge of grindcore.
"Never complacent, each steamroller of Brutal Truth album has furthered their sound and moved the goalposts for the whole damn genre in the process. Now bassist, founding member and extreme metal champion Dan Lilker approaches his 50th birthday, he's stepping back from music and his baby - Brutal Truth - will be no more.
"When the band returned in 2006, it was Obscene Extreme the following year that welcomed them back as very personification of the festival. Now, seven years later we'll bid them farewell with one final performance. Obscene Extreme 2014 – this promises to be unforgettable!!!
"Another band that will be stepping out onto the Obscene Extreme stage this year will be fathers of the German death metal scene, the mighty Morgoth. Originally split in 1998 after only three albums - the coffin-lid hammering of 1991's ‘Cursed,’ 1993's forward-thinking ‘Odium’ and their most divisive albums ever, 1995's post-punk ‘Feel Sorry For The Fanatic.’ More...

Cattle Decapitation has begun the writing process for the follow-up to 2012's "Monolith of Inhumanity." The band comments:
"Since we got home from The Summer Slaughter Tour the guys have been hard at work on new material! I actually go in next week to grab a quick run through of the first new track they have completed so I can start writing lyrics to it.
"I have heard the track and I hate to say anything just yet because we will be spending the next full year from now working on the next album, but I will say the stuff they're working on is intense. I can't wait to start writing lyrics to it and so far is in league with one of our current musical aspirations… to make fans of our last record shit themselves!
"We'll be taking a small break to play a few shows in our region with EyeHateGod and our friends Strong Intetion on their January tour!"
Cattle Decapitation's next album is tentatively due out early 2015. Stay tuned for more updates on the new record and future tour dates. The band's previous music video for "Your Disposal" can also be viewed below. More...

Cattle Decapitation has launched a brand new video for "Your Disposal," taken from the band's most recent album, "Monolith of Inhumanity." The band worked with Mitch Massie once again to create an irreverent, grotesque piece of video, available below.
Cattle Decapitation's Travis Ryan comments: "Director Mitch Massie has presented us all with a bizarre retelling of the story of Adam and Eve using themes from our latest album "Monolith of Inhumanity." Here we see Eve giving birth to humanity, a living, breathing piece of primordial meat birthed into the dirt making its way through the garden of eden, hellbent on destruction… A clean and conscious monolith foretelling what could be possible given the fact that humans exhibit superior traits of intelligence, instead the earth is flooded with technological fallout and debris by the hands of man. This video is very much a prequel to our other videos 'Forced Gender Reassignment' and of course, 'Kindgom of Tyrants.'" More...
Cattle Decapitation will be releasing a 7" single this summer. "Your Disposal" features the B-side, "An Exposition of Insides," which was previously available only as a Japanese bonus track on the band's most recent album, "Monolith of Inhumanity."
Fans attending this year's The Summer Slaughter Tour can grab their copy at the band's merch booth throughout the tour. Vocalist Travis Ryan comments:
"We noticed a lot of people were dismayed to find out there was a track available out there on a Japanese version of 'Monolith of Inhumanity' that nobody outside of Japan had ever heard before. When it hit YouTube, that's when we started getting emails from fans. We noticed the lyrics weren't inside that version or available anywhere at all so that gave us the idea of throwing it on a b-side and releasing a 7" vinyl single for 'Your Disposal' with the song 'An Exposition of Insides!' We feel that Monolith is the mother of all of our releases so far and I thought it'd be funny to make it look like she just squirted out a baby and that's what this little guy looks like. Just in time for Summer Slaughter!" More...

Slaughter has never been a one dimensional experience for fans. This year is a true testament to that as we have an amazing mix of extreme music's influential icons and leaders of the new school. Let the underground unite!"
Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist) states: “We can't wait to get back on the road! We're launching a US tour in the spring, hitting Europe for some festivals and club shows, and then hitting several more cities with Summer Slaughter all summer long. We are absolutely amped. After being holed up in the studio for such a long time giving birth to One of Us is the Killer, we are all pent up and ready to share material new and old with our supporters doing what we love to do the most. Can't wait to see and either kiss or rip off each and every one of your faces on the road with Summer Slaughter and year round, everywhere.”

Australia is next on the map of untapped territories of the globe that we plan on hitting this year in support of our new album, 'Monolith of Inhumanity,' and we're very excited to finally head down under, meet the fans who have been asking for us all these years and show 'em what they've been missing! Seriously though, we're very humbled and excited to have such a strong reaction so far away from what we call home. It's an honor, we thank you guys, flights are booked… we'll see you soon!" More...

This might be the only time this year you guys see us so be sure to come out and rage with us!"

"Banned by YouTube and Vimeo and deemed to be too over the top for Cattle's label Metal Blade Records to even touch, 'Forced Gender Reassignment' is a gory, obscenely graphic and explicitly intense story of what could happen when the tables are turned on a group of people whose faith blinds them to the point of being unable to mind their own business and just letting others be themselves. This will truly go down as one of the most disturbing music videos of all time. Cattle Decapitation will be touring this fall with Six Feet Under on The Autumn Apocalypse Tour and Dying Fetus on The Blood of Power Tour. See tour dates below." More...
... Continued from Part I...
9… something… am. Or maybe it’s 10, or maybe I’m in Hell. All I know is that the sun has risen, transforming my tent into a “Bridge On The River Kwai” sweatbox and my sleeping bag into a dehydration cocoon. I’m marinating.
Cooking aromas. Eggs frying, a Mediterranean whiff of olive oil, the universal scent of black coffee. Subdued, slow-motion, hung-over camp chatter. An unfamiliar voice: “Mind if I drop in for a meet-and-greet?” Male, low and steady-pitched, Eastern European. Might as well get my ass moving and be social. Also, I’m starving again.
I peel away my constraints, fumbling, slippery, dazed. I unzip the door and gasp for breath. The open air feels cucumber-cool by comparison and prickles my skin.
With nature doing all the work around here, who needs an alarm clock? More...
