The U.K. experimental doomsters from Esoteric are hard at work on what will be the band's seventh full-length album and the follow-up to 2011’s “Paragon of Dissonance.”
As the band members explain, this means that for the rest of the year they will be concentrating on preparation and recording: “We will be playing a few one-off shows and festivals, but we don’t intend to take part in any tours this year as we want our main focus to be on the album. If all goes to plan we hope to complete the writing by the end of 2015. The cycle continues…”
The departure last year of keyboard player Jan Krause has not affected the ability of the line-up (Gordon Bicknell on guitar, Mark Bodossian on bass, Greg Chandler on guitar and vocals, Joe Fletcher on drums, and Jim Nolan on guitar) to crack on with the new album, nor has it stopped them playing live while they search for a replacement.
As well as the new album, Esoteric also has other releases in mind, which vinyl fans will definitely appreciate, stating: “We plan to release 'The Pernicious Enigma' and 'Metamorphogenesis' on vinyl, which are the two remaining albums from our back catalogue that haven’t yet been released in this format. After that we will be re-releasing our first two albums on CD, but we will have more details about everything we’re planning to do as we go along. More...
At the peak of the summer festival season, one particular festival has only just begun to make its first announcements: Blastfest, which will be held in Bergen on the west coat of Norway.
The next installment of Blastfest will take place from February 19th - 21st, 2015. The following bands have now been confirmed for the festival:
U.K. outfit Esoteric has issued the following announcement online about parting ways with keyboard player Jan Krause:
"Following our recent tour, keyboardist Jan has decided to part ways with Esoteric. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.
"We are therefore in search of a suitable replacement. Anyone interested should be in the West Midlands area of the UK, or have the ability to get to central Birmingham for weekly rehearsals.

Experimental doom metal outfit Esoteric returns to Europe in support of double album "Paragon of Dissonance."
The band will explore new areas in Eastern and Central Europe as well as Scandinavia plus Central Europe. Esoteric will be joined on most dates by Swedish/Chilean epic doom band Procession. This powerful package will be completed by special guests Isole from April 11th to 22nd and Indesinence for the remainder of the dates, which can be viewed in full below:

U.K. doom pioneers Esoteric have revealed more details about their forthcoming U.S. tour, and added additional dates.
The tour, which starts on September 20th in Soda Springs, CA, will run for two weeks before ending on October 5th in Cambridge, MA. New tour dates have been announced in Chicago, IL at Reggie's and Cambridge MA, at T.T. The Bear's Place.

U.K. doom pioneers Esoteric have announced their first-ever tour in North America. The tour, which starts on September 20th in Soda Springs, CA will run for two weeks before ending on October 5th in Boston, MA. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
Esoteric also recently announced a rare appearance at this year's Stella Natura Festival. The Stella Natura festival runs from September 20th through the 22nd and is located in the Sierra Nevada’s Tahoe National Forest. The festival will see Esoteric perform alongside bands like Wardruna (NO), Stargazer (AU), Jarboe, LOSS, Worm Ouroboros, and more.

There are only two weeks remaining in the countdown to the extreme metal gathering - Obscene Extreme Fest!
On July 3rd, Obscene Extreme kicks off at Trutnov Battlefield, Czech Republic, with the "Freak Festival" from 2pm and will include the annual and one of a kind Olymfreak Games. At 9PM the live events begins with the festival's "Doom Fest" headlined by Hooded Menace.
From Thursday the 4th to Saturday the 6th, the tempo turns up significantly and will see bands such as Napalm Death, Cryptopsy, Exhumed, Krisiun, Grave, Aborted and Anaal Nathrakh take to the stage.

Esoteric will be releasing the new album "Paragon of Dissonance" on November 11th (November 15th in the U.S.). In anticipation of the upcoming release, a song off the album is now available for streaming online.

Esoteric is back in the scene and the British doomsters' forthcoming album will be entitled "Paragon of Dissonance." The release has been described by vocalist Greg Chandler as a "varied and diverse mix of emotions and soundscapes."
The band's sixth full-length album will be released mid-November and will be a 2-disc set, like most of Esoteric's previous albums. Esoteric has announced that more news on the release will be revealed in September.

U.K. doom act Esoteric has issued the following update about releasing albums on vinyl:
"Finally, there is some progress regarding the vinyl project. Each album will be released on an individual basis, starting later in 2010 with the 'Epistemological Despondency' 2LP. Each album will be limited to approx 350 copies. Following the series of albums on individual LP - there will be a one-off box set containing all albums. The box set will be limited to approx 150 copies.
"Important: Any interest in the 'Epistemological Despondency' 2LP can be made now via email (email@example.com) to confirm reservation of a copy. No money required at this stage. Expected cost is £25 including postage. Any orders for the 'Epistemological' 2LP will receive priority on the next vinyl in the series. It will be possible to register an interest in the box set version at a later date - anyone buying all individual albums will receive first priority on the box set version."

"We are proud to announce that Jim Nolan has joined the band on guitar. A very fine successor to the recently departed Kris Clayton. We are currently writing and rehearsing new material for the sixth album, which we will begin recording later this year at the Priory Recording Studios. "News Update: Currently we are writing and rehearsing new material for the sixth album, which we will be recording at various stages throughout 2010 at Priory Recoring Studios. We have a few gigs lined up for next year so far (see upcoming shows section). If anyone wants to inquire about our availability, please get in touch through myspace or firstname.lastname@example.org. We are still open for auditions for any prospective band members to replace the recently departed Olivier Goyet (keys/synths) and Kris Clayton (guitar). Currently Ilia Rodriguez (Pantheist/Indesinence) is filling in on 3rd guitar duties while we search for a permanent replacement."

U.K. doom band Esoteric have issued the following update about seeking a new guitarist and keyboard player:
"Guitarist and Keyboard player required: We, Esoteric are currently looking for a replacement for our third guitarist, Kris Clayton who departed from the band earlier this year and also require a replacement for our keyboard player, Olivier Goyet who recently moved back to his homeland, France. Experience and own equipment are a necessity. The band has been in existence since July 1992 and is currently writing material for the sixth album. Regular gigs in UK and abroad. British doomsters ESOTERIC have completed writing and arranging material for their fifth album and are preparing to enter the studio to record the CD. The album will contain seven songs, spanning over 100 minutes, and will be released on double-CD format through Season of Mist.
In other news, plans are in motion to release a 10xLP box set through Aesthetic Death Records in the coming months. This will include all of the songs from the first four albums and will be the first vinyl release from the band.
ESOTERIC's most recent album, "Subconscious Dissolution into the Continuum", was released in June 2004 via Season of Mist.
British doom metallers ESOTERIC welcome new drummer Joe Fletcher to the band. After 18 months, the guys have finally found someone suitably talented and disturbed to join them. ESOTERIC look forward to working with him both live and in the studio.
Alongside this comes the news that the band is looking for a third guitarist following the recent departure of Steve Peters. Please not that ESOTERIC is based in the Birmingham area of the West Midlands, UK, and that experience and dedication are essential. ESOTERIC have nearly completed writing and arranging their fifth album. So far there are over 100 minutes of material and the band hopes to enter the studio in the next month or two, so you can expect a possible double album for a late 2007 release.
