Sunless Posts Entire New Album

Minneapolis-based exploratory death metal trio Sunless presents proper debut full-length, "Urraca" as an independent release this coming February 24th. Today the album has been unveiled early as the band prepares to release it next week while also kicking off their Central U.S. tour. Listen in below.

Tracked by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording in Minneapolis (The Crinn, Ambassador Gun, Maeth), and mixed/mastered by Colin Marston at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in Queens, New York, "Urraca" delivers a relentlessly engaging onslaught of complex and dissonant death metal, with nine tracks encompassing a dense forty-four minutes.

Sunless kicks off a two-week-long tour supporting "Urraca" with a hometown show the day of the album's release. Touring alongside Minneapolis fungal death-sludge act Grogus, the caravan will rampage across the Central US through March 11th. More...

Sunless Streaming New Song "The Ancient Ones"

As Minneapolis-based technical/avant-garde death metal trio Sunless prepares for the release of the "Urraca" debut full-length in late February, today advance track "The Ancient Ones" has been released online.

Sunless reinterprets influence from pioneers of extreme, dissonant metal, such as Gorguts, Ulcerate, and Deathspell Omega through an abstract lens that is all the band's own, boasting a prominent rhythm section, a scattered assortment of time signatures, interwoven and complex arrangements, and bellowing death growls.

Sunless Releasing New Album

Minneapolis-based technical/avant-garde death metal outfit Sunless has completed the blistering "Urraca," the band's proper debut album, for independent release this February 24th.

Comprised of bassist Mitch Schooler (ex-Nerves, Modulus), drummer Ben Iburg (Not From Here, The Eye Unclouded), and guitarist/vocalist Lucas Scott (Australis, Pestifere), the band boasts a prominent rhythm section, a scattered assortment of time signatures, interwoven and complex arrangements, and bellowing death growls.

New album "Urraca" was tracked by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording in the band's hometown of Minneapolis and mixed/mastered by Colin Marston at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in Queens, New York. Nine tracks encompassing a dense forty-four minutes compose the album, while artwork was handled by friend, lyricist, and former bandmate Andrew Notsch (ex-Youwretch).
