Weapons Of Anew Gearing Up For Tour

Weapons of Anew will make its live debut touring with Alter Bridge and special guest Nonpoint during "The Last Hero" tour from January 24th through February 14th, 2017.

Upon confirmation of the tour, Weapon's of Anew guitarist Freddy Ordine said, "It's truly an honor! I'm excited for guitarists that are into this type of music. It's really going to be a shred fest - all the band's have really great players in them."

"As a singer," Ray West stated, "I think that Myles Kennedy and Elias Soriano are both at the top of their game, so I have great respect for both bands. It's safe to say the bar is set very high for us and I live for that! I consider playing a live show with both bands a privilege."

When asked what it means to perform live, Ordine states, "Pure energy!!! It's better than any other feeling I know." West puts it this way, "an intense energy that compares to nothing else!"

Weapons Of Anew Releases Music Video

Weapons of Anew has followed Friday's massive digital release of the track "Killshot" (via OK!Good Records) with a brand new video for the track today.

Filmed at Hammer Hands Gym and directed by Ron Geffen, the hard-hitting clip follows a contentious boxing match between actors/boxers Amber Skyes and Julian Rodriguez, illustrating the song's theme of the struggle between love and hate, interspersed with band in live action also inside the ring.

The video is based on a treatment written by frontman Ray West, who also penned the lyrics for the song. "Ray had written a treatment with a girl beating the breaks off a guy," said bassist Stefan 'Reno' Cutrupi. "Once we met Ron and discussed the concept, all of the pieces kind of just fell into place."

The video was a departure for director Geffen, though, who focuses more of his work on pop and EDM artists. "It was a fun time," he said. "I believe the video depicts the emotions and feelings of the band, and how they are able to put those emotions into words."

"Ron is a hard worker that really hustles, so he and I definitely bonded quickly," guitarist Freddy Ordine said. "Amber is actually Ron's girlfriend and she has a hell of a right hook! She was actually punching Julian in the face with the first punch. Ron now knows not to piss her off!" More...

Weapon Of Anew Releases First Single

Weapons Of Anew, the dynamic new band featuring members of HavocHate and Spread Eagle, makes its debut to the metal world today with powerful single "Killshot" via OK!Good Records.

"As we started writing for this new band idea (with Chris Manfre and Stefan 'Reno' Cutrupi), I didn't want to write another HavocHate record," guitarist Freddy Ordine said. "Granted, I'm very proud of both those records, but I felt I had more to say and it didn't have to be all about heavy. It could have awesome melodies and groove and still smack you in the face, but in a different way. I had started listening to this melody I kept hearing in my head and wrote the remainder of the song."

Enter Spread Eagle vocalist Ray West. "The chorus wasn't written as you hear it now until Ray came in," Ordine said. "I heard Ray sing the verses in this sleek kind of modal way the first time we ever played together and - ZAP!!! - I was instantly connected! The chorus pretty much jumped out of my head and onto my fret board. I knew this is what my new band was supposed to sound like!"

Added Reno: "We had a fully working old version of the song with a completely different chorus and bridge section. Upon jamming it with Ray on our first couple of meetings, we ended up removing parts and re-writing entire sections of the song and changing parts to fit Ray's awesome vocal style. We were pretty set on the original version of the song until Ray came in and we moved things around...for the better I might add!" More...
