The Misfits at Starland Ballroom
Friday, April 1st, the Misfits played the Starland Ballroom. The line-up consisted of Dez from Black Flag on guitar, Marky Ramone of the world famous Ramones on drums, and, of course, the AMAZING Jerry Only on bass! Besides playing many Misfits hits, the set also included, "Rise Up" from Black Flag and hits from the Ramones such as, "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Sheena's a Punk Rocker". I STILL can't believe I was able to hear all these amazing songs! NEVER, would I have imagined to hear Misfits, Ramones, and a Black Flag song all in one night! Everyone went crazy for the three legends and if they EVER come to a town near you, CHECK IT OUT!!
Besides the amazing headliners, the openers weren't too bad either, Divinity Destroyed, an amazing Jersey band helped create some insanity with their own unique style of technical drums and innovative break downs.
One act that did disappoint though was, The Killing Machine, another local band that was basically a bunch of 40 year old body builders trying to pull off, what seemed to be, a bad cover of a cross between Godsmack, Alince in Chains, and Black Label Society.
Overall, the show was EXCELLENT, and, as stated before, I strongly recommend checking out the Misfits with the amazing Jerry Only, the world famous Marky Ramone, and the superb Dez from Black Flag.
Misfits Comment On Marky Ramone's Departure
MISFITS have issued the following update regarding the departure of former RAMONES drummer Marky Ramone:
"As most of you know, Marky Ramone (of the world-famous RAMONES) has been sitting in on drums as a 'special guest' with the MISFITS on tour for the past few years. Marky's final shows behind the kit with the MISFITS will take place from April 1st in Sayerville, NJ at the Starland Ballroom up to and including the show on April 30th in Baltimore, MD. Marky's departure from touring with the MISFITS is an amicable one and we wish him the best of luck.
"What's next for the MISFITS...? Plans have already been in the works for some changes to come. We can't say much more until things are officially confirmed but look for announcements coming soon regarding the upcoming summer tour in Europe and more...stay tuned Fiends!"

Danzig's U.S. tour, which features Kataklysm, Trivium, and Eyes of Fire on various dates, kicked off last week, and is in support of the band's latest album, "Circle of Snakes." In addition, Danzig has completed "Black Aria II," the follow up to 1993's "Black Aria" which reached the #1 position on Billboard's Classical chart, and is in the process of writing the screenplay for a film adaptation of "Gerouge," one of the comic book titles distributed by his Verotik publishing company.
