Doomed And Stoned Returning For 2017 Edition
With an unlikely origin story, the little fest that could returns after its highly successful inaugural year with an even more powerful lineup.
On October 6th & 7th 2017, Indiana City Beer will play host to 18 of the most exciting bands in the doom metal and stoner rock scene today. If you enjoy larger fests, but feel that a sense of community can sometimes get lost along the way, then Doomed & Stoned will be your destination of choice this fall.
The 2nd Annual Doomed & Stoned Festival is a true community effort, pulling in the passion and know-how of local musicians, sound engineers, journalists, artists, photographers, and most of all diehard fans of ground-shaking soundwaves, groovy psychedelic vibes, and amp-worshipping riffs.

Season Of Arrows Posts New Video
Nashville's Season Of Arrows just released a video for "The Bridge," a track which is taken from the "Give It To The Mountain" album (streaming in full here).
The band commented: "There are times in life where you are consumed with emptiness and despair and seems like there isn’t anything to grab a hold of. Within that deepest of darkness you can sometimes find a small beacon of hope, thus the bridge. It’s the unmistakable will that lives inside all of us, when exercised keeps us alive and brings us to a new outlook on life.”

Season Of Arrows Streaming Full New Album
Nashville's Season Of Arrows today streams forthcoming new album "Give It To The Mountain" in full, which will be available on March 24th via Argonauta Records. The band commented:
"We are very excited to announce we're releasing this album with Argonauta Records (Genova, Italy). They are true pioneers in working with awesome underground Heavy Doom/Sludge Metal bands.

Season Of Arrows Post New Song
Season Of Arrows just premiered a moody, occult rock influenced song titled "The Bridge." The track's haunting atmosphere, combined with frontwoman Stormy Wakefields vocals, makes for a chilling listen.

Season Of Arrows Announces Album Release Date
Season Of Arrows was originally set to drop "Give It To The Mountain" via Static Tension Recordings this month, but after leaving the label and signing with Argonauta, a new release date of Mach 24th, 2017 has now been confirmed.

Season Of Arrows Signs To Argonauta Records
Nashville doom band Season Of Arrows has left Static Tension Recordings. The band was slated to release the forthcoming album "Give it to the Mountain" this Friday, but will now release the album via Italian label Argonauta Records in the Spring of 2017. Another announcement confirming the new release date is expected soon.
The band commented about the signing "We’re very excited to announce today that we have signed with Argonauta Records (Genova, Italy). They are true pioneers in working with awesome underground heavy doom/sludge bands. Our blood, sweat, and tears went into making this record, and it’s always great to see when that effort is rewarded."
Season of Arrow’s are a heavy doom/stoner that was formed in January 2014. The band aims to take the sounds of heavy music and blend it with elements about the darker sides of life, almost like a cross between Jefferson Airplane and Black Sabbath.

Nashville's Season Of Arrows today reveals new track "Farewell to the Horseman," taken off forthcoming album "Give it to the Mountain."
The band commented that the track "is about ultimate sacrifice. Giving to something bigger than ourselves. A bloodstained ground built on the bones of our fathers. Under stars, through the ether and within the heavens we claim our lands.”

Pit Stories: Fire Escapades With "43% Burnt"
For this week's Pit Story we go back more than a decade to a time when shows tended to get a lot more rowdy than they do now ('course, anybody who saw Slayer in the late '80s during shows that started riots is probably laughing pretty hard at the thought of 2002 being anything close to extreme for live shows).
Our Pit Story today comes courtesy of Dave Gates from Season of Arrows, recalling an insane performance from The Dillinger Escape Plan at Furnace Fest 2002. Dave retells the story like this:
Brandon, Brad, and I were fortunate to play this festival in Birmingham, AL. We were in a band called Fall With Me at the time. I remember it was very hot outside and there were so many people there. It was my first hardcore 3-day festival experience. I was into a lot of the bands that played, such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Zao, Norma Jean, Bleeding Through, Shai Hulud, Eso-Charis, etc. to name a few. Most of the bands put on a great show that weekend. However, there was one that pulled off live stage antics and a jaw dropping performance like I have never seen before!
That band was, The Dillinger Escape Plan. I was very familiar with them and I knew they played very mathematical technical noisy hardcore. I had heard that their live show was truly incredible. I remember, they just got a new singer, perhaps that why this particular show was so insane, like he had something to prove. They started off playing and moving around quite a bit, which was typical of bands of that ilk. However, I noticed early on the singer hit his head on the headstock of one of their guitars. It was bleeding pretty bad. He takes his shirt off and wraps it around his head like fucking Rambo. Then he proceeds to climb up this light beam pole which was about 25-30 feet high. He was screaming at the top of his lungs bleeding through his shirt he wrapped around his head. Ha.
Then one of the guitarist jumps up and nose dives straight into the crowd with the headstock of his guitar pointing towards the insane pit. The singer comes down form the pole and then picks up the mic stand and holds it over his head like Conan while screaming like a mad man, flawlessly I might add. This is one of those mic stands that has the heavy circle weight on the end and he grabs the mic from it and throws the stand into the massive spinning circle pit. A few songs later, he takes one of the guitarists 4x12 cabs and tosses it into the pit. People were pulling it apart like it was the flesh of a human during a violent zombie attack. I saw tons of kids with pieces of the speaker cones, tolex, and wires flinging them around to the beat of the song all while moshing. If that wasn’t enough, they started to play my favorite song from them called "43% Burnt." I forgot to mention they had a fire breather dude this whole time this was going on up on stage with them.
They all eventually leave the stage and light the drum kit on fire and then one of the guitarist plugs in and starts to play the awesome main riff of the song again, which is so heavy still to this day. He keeps playing it over and over, meanwhile the drums are burning behind him. The next thing I know, the drummer runs from beside the stage and jumps back on the kit and starts to play along with this riff hitting the drums as hard as he possibly can. They all come back in and finish a lengthy added ending to this brutal song. It was a site to see man, I will never forget that show.
