Linkin Park Begin Working On 'Given Up' Video
LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington has posted the following message on his official web site:
"We are starting to shoot our new video for 'Given Up' and I think it's going to turn out really good. The band has decided to go with a live video and I think it's perfect for the song. We always do really big expensive videos and it's nice to take a break from that."
According to The Pulse of Radio, LINKIN PARK will offer fans attending its upcoming tour the chance to purchase a "Digital Souvenir Package" with their tickets, in which they will receive an audio download of the concert they attend, exclusive photos and a digital tour program. Co-frontman Mike Shinoda said in a recent conference call with reporters what makes the offering unique. "The best part about it, to me, is that our live mixer, our official mixer who mixes our show every night, you know, finishes his night with us, then goes back to his hotel or bus or backstage and mixes the show for you," he said. "It's intended to be played, you know, in your headphones and in your car, and it's done by our official guy." More...
Chiodos Pull Out Of Soundwave For Linkin Park
Chiodos, following the lead of Coheed And Cambria, Social Distortion, and Ace Enders, have become the fourth band to pull out of this years' Soundwave Festival in Australia. Though no news has yet been released on a replacement for Chiodos, replacing the other three on the line-up is Infectious Groves, City And Colour, and Alexisonfire. Coheed And Cambria decided not to come down under after being confirmed for the Soundwave fest when Linkin Park offered them a support spot on their US tour. Chiodos have now reported the exact same situation, and neither band has given any real reason for the late switch. A Soundwave fest organiser made this statement on the festival's message board:
"For the record, they were getting paid more from [Soundwave] than they are from Linkin Park. I suspect they are doing this stadium tour because their label and publisher demanded it and if the band did not do this they would have found their new album fall off the priority list. In any case, as is our policy at SW, we will always strive to replace any drop-out with a band of bigger or simillar stature. Sometimes, of course, it is impossible to get a carbon copy, but in terms of quality, we will always strive to match or exceed."
Coheed And Cambria issued the following statement:
"Linkin Park has personally invited us to support them in the US during this time and after a lot of thought, we have accepted. While this is good news for us and our fans in the US, we realize it is a blow to you down under and in mainland Europe, and we apologize for any inconvenience this will cause."
The band has assured us that they "will instead come to [Australian] shores at the end of March to play our own theater shows", but have not yet assured us of exact dates or locations. Chiodos' statement on their MySpace page said essentially the same thing:
"Dear the country/continent of Australia,We regret to inform you that we have to cancel our dates on the “soundwave festival.” BUT WAIT, things will get sexier. We got an offer for a tour in the states that we couldn’t turn down with the position that were in. I know this sounds like were totally bailing on a bunch of totally wicked sweet dudes and dudettes, but were not. It was a really tough decision, all of us dudes were really really excited to hang out and head bang with you aussies, but it comes down to this opportunity that we can’t pass up. Hopefully you don’t hate on us and fly over to kill brad’s dog, steal derrick’s tobacco bong, give jason a shower, steal pat’s shoes, hot-wire craig’s car, and lastly pop my butt cherry. All of us know that violence is not the answer, BECAUSE we’ll be coming to australia soon, no worries. I have a scheduled fight with a kangaroo anyway, and that thing has been talking way too much shit, SO when that happens everyone is invited to watch me kick the shit out of this kangaroo, i’ve been training.
to sexy accents,
Matt CHIODOS"

Chiodos Re-release Album, Touring With Atreyu
With a hugely successful Spring and Summer behind them and looking toward the Fall and Winter, Michigan's newest success story Chiodos is celebrating the second half of 2006 with the re-release of their breakthrough album All's Well that Ends Well that will include bonus acoustic tracks, DVD and brand new cover art by Paul Romano (Mastodon, Trivium). Once the boys return from their dates in Europe, they're jumping back into US venues with Atreyu, From First to Last and Every Time I Die for a tour that will prove to be one of the biggest and loudest this Fall.
With sales of 70k of the original release, All's Well That Ends Well is a milestone for the band and their label Equal Vision Records. And with the excitement generated by their incendiary live shows that had Warped founder Kevin Lyman singing their praises ("It's great to go by the Smartpunk stage and see Chiodos's crowds growing with each stop of the tour. Word is defiantly out on these guys!"), Chiodos have arrived and what better way to prove it than to bring it back to the fans by offering more material to sink their teeth into. The re-release is slated for stores on October 17th and will include acoustic versions of "Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek", "Queen of Diamonds" (live demo by Craig Owens) and "Lindsay Quit Lollygagging" (a new recording of an unreleased track). The bonus DVD includes exclusive content such as the Popcorefilm-directed video for "Baby, You Wouldn't Last...", behind the-scenes content shot by the band, and live show footage from Chicago, the first-ever acoustic set, and Bamboozle in New Jersey.
With tour dates filling up for this frenetically melodic aggro six-piece, this Fall is going to be sweat-drenched and packed to the gills with their exciting live shows and amazingly complex music. Seems like as well as 2006 has been, it's going to end far better than anyone had expected.
