Monster Truck Releases New Video

The Canadian hard-rockin’ juggernaut Monster Truck will release new album "Sittin’ Heavy" on February 19th, 2016 via new label home Mascot Records for Europe and Dine Alone Records for the rest of the World.

Ahead of this release, Monster Truck has put together an epic storm of a video for "Don’t Tell Me How To Live." The song is inspired by a comment made by singer and bassist Jon Harvey’s girlfriend – “She started giving me trouble for playing guitar every day and I replied, ‘This is my job, don’t tell me how to live’” – its message holds true in a variety of situations. “The song is about being independent in one’s life, rather than worrying about what people think or the expectations of other people; just be true to yourself.”

The stadium sized track needed a fitting location and the band pitched up to the middle of nowhere at Caledon, Ontario on an oil rig with drone cameras and captured the band playing in the middle of a snowstorm.

Talking about the video guitarist Jeremy Widerman remembers, "When it comes to music videos It seems that the bigger a pain in the ass it is to film the better it turns out. Between an improbable 5 story industrial load in and numerous warnings that the drones flight path was too dangerous….. the entire video shoot balanced on knifes edge. Luckily with some unexpected help from Mother Nature we were able to get exactly what we wanted and come out unscathed.”

The result was both epic and beautiful as singer/bassist Jon Harvey laughs "It was cold, it was wet and it was tiring, but it looks awesome. Next time someone says, 'drones', I'm all ears." More...
