Gygax Debut New Single "The Lascivious Underdark"
Ventura, California fantasy metal/rock outfit Gygax has premiered "The Lascivious Underdark" - the lead single from their impending second album, Second Edition, streaming below.
Gygax picks up where their 2016-released Critical Hits debut left off. The eight tracks that comprise Second Edition showcase Gygax's unrivaled and potent tendency to create absolutely anthemic rock 'n' roll hits, chock-full of hip shakin' grooves and twin guitar explosions that would make Thin Lizzy shed a tear of pride. Second Edition was recorded in November of 2017 with Scott Goodrich at Nu-Tone Studios in Pittsburgh, California, and features the always incredible artwork of Fares Maese.

Gygax Scores A "Critical Hit"
"Critical Hits," the debut LP from Ventura, California's ex-Gypsyhawk ragers Gygax is out this week through Creator-Destructor Records, and in celebration, the entire album has been unleashed upon the masses early.
With the band moniker residing as a tribute to the creator of Dungeons & Dragons, Gygax delivers a straightforward but triumphant hybrid of classic rock and heavy metal, heavily steeped in the imagery of fantasy literature and role playing games. Picking up where Gypsyhawk left off, the band's sound is rooted in the musical stylings of metallic '70s rockers Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple, with equal parts metal and boogie-inducing groove.

Hailing from Ventura, California, Gygax was born out of the ashes of vocalist/bassist Eric Harris' previous heavy-metal brainchild, Gypsyhawk, whose "Patience & Perseverance" 2xLP also saw release through Creator-Destructor in 2009. Bryant Throckmorton, who played second guitar in Gypsyhawk also joins Harris in Gygax on guitar. When Gypsyhawk decided to disband, Harris and Throckmorton took some time alongside friend and fellow guitarist Armand John Lizzy to begin demoing new material, then solidifying their lineup with Justin Dempsey on drums.
