Orxy Streaming Corrupted Cover

This week, the split LP between Denver-based doom/sludge duo Oryx and Tucson grindcore foursome Languish will be released via Battleground Records.

Another monolithic slab of audio has been leaked from the platter today - check out the Oryx cover of Corrupted's rupturing "Dios Injusto" belopw.

Upon the recording of "Dios Injusto," Battleground Records sent the track to Corrupted through the band's booking agency to gain the band's blessing on the cover. Initially, Corrupted thought the song was actually one of its own recordings, perhaps a live or unreleased version, before realizing that it was a cover. With that, the band immediately gave Oryx the blessing on releasing the track.

The Oryx/Languish split LP will see release through Battleground Records this Friday, April 1st in a run of 300 copies on 180-gram black wax including a digital download. More...

Oryx Streaming Split Track

Battleground Records has confirmed April 1st for the release of the devastating split LP from Denver slow burners Oryx and Tucson grind rippers Languish, and today a brand new track from the Oryx side has been let out of the cage with a premiere of "The Singularity."

An ultra-murky quagmire of low-end psychedelic thunder is what to expect with the lumbering track. Listen in below.

Created in the tradition of classic underground split releases of the '90s where grindcore, powerviolence, punk, crust, sludge, and noise acts paired together, the Oryx / Languish split LP will see release through Battleground Records on April 1st.

The split is coming in a run of 300 copies on 180-gram black wax including a digital download. Preorders will be released in the coming days. More...

Oryx Announces Split With Languish

In early 2016, Battleground Records will release a split LP uniting the slow burners from Oryx and the grinders from Tucson-based Languish, the grueling pairing very much in the tradition of classic underground split releases of the '90s where grindcore, powerviolence, punk, crust, sludge and noise acts saw each other on opposing sides of vinyl together.

Side A is dominated by three new bludgeoning tracks from Denver-based Oryx, who recently brought their gutter-dredging brew of doom/sludge metal to the Mile High City from Las Cruces, New Mexico earlier this year. The new split will be the first new material to see release since the band's gnarly 2014-released "Widowmaker" debut LP.

While sharing similar tonal devastation values as their A-Side counterparts on the split, Languish opts for a much more rabid delivery on B-Side, deploying a caustic crust/grind attack with opposing guttural/scathing vocal attacks and waves of d-beatings.

View a trailer for the Oryx/Languish split LP featuring a sneak listen to some of the new music below. Upcoming tour dates from the band are also listed here:
