Today we're going to push you head first into those brackish waters with a glimpse at Death Motif's upcoming new EP release.

Due out September 10, the Austin, TX black ‘n’ rollers from Death Motif have their second EP underway, and "The Water" will drag you down to even further depths than the previous debut "A Filthy Crown."

Fans of Glorior Belli, High On Fire, and Regarde Les Hommes Tomber should check out our exclusive premiere of mid point track "His And Hers" below. Guitarist Andy Bonney elaborates on the diversity of the track: “We come from all different backgrounds and are a series of different ages, so we take special care to incorporate as many elements of our differing tastes as possible.”

Speaking on the lyrics, Bonney adds, “'His and Hers' is based loosely/inspired by the murder of a high school friend of mine that happened last year.”

The full EP's track listing is as follows:

“We focus on narratives about death, sadness, and darkness, often pulled from real life examples," the band comments. The new EP was recorded by Paul White at The Fathom Tree in Austin, TX, with Death Motif stating: “I want to make sure that we mention The Fathom Tree, because Paul really bent over backwards to help us get the record finished. Paul rules.”
