District 97 To Support Pain Of Salvation

Laser's Edge-signed modern/progressive rock act District 97 has announced a new batch of live dates which consume most of February, including a newly-secured North American tour supporting Pain Of Salvation.

District 97 begins this new trek with Tour To The Edge, a run of headlining shows beginning February 2nd playing Chicago, Louisville, and Murfreesboro on the way to Tampa. There the band will take part in the Cruise To The Edge, which sails to Cozumel, Mexico and back, and sees the band joining Yes, Kansans, Steve Hackett, John Wetton, Mike Portnoy, Spock's Beard, Haken, and many others on the cruise.

District 97 Embarking On New Leg Of Tour

Laser's Edge prog outfit District 97 is preparing to embark on the next leg of an ongoing 2016 world tour, as a run of U.S. live dates with Tiles begins this week. Additionally, the band has released a live video of "Snow Country" filmed in Europe earlier this year.

Having completed the European leg of the intercontinental tour in support of third studio album "In Vaults" back in March and April, District 97 now brings these infectious songs to fans across the Northeastern U.S.

The new tour dates begin this Friday the 13th in the band's hometown of Chicago, followed by shows in Detroit, Baltimore, Dunellen, Kennett Square, New York, and Akron through May 20th.

District 97 Adds More Tour Dates

Chicago-based act District 97 has confirmed additional details and dates for a second European tour, which will start in the U.K. in late March, as well as a series of new East Coast and Midwest U.S. dates, including several shows with labelmates Tiles.

District 97 has recently undergone a lineup change with Andrew Lawrence and Tim Seisser joining on keyboards and bass, respectively. The new lineup will perform a first ever show in Chicago on February 26th. Singer Leslie Hunt has recently voiced the mood in the band:

"I am grateful for the opportunity to tour with this fantastic new lineup and energized to perform this music with them. It's exciting to return to some of the same venues we have played at before and I'm very much looking forward to checking out some new places as well. Having my baby boy with us should definitely keep things interesting!"

Drummer Jonathan Schang, recently nominated in the Prog Category of the 2016 Modern Drummer Readers Poll, added: "I can't wait to bring D97 to Europe for the first time in three years! The new lineup is gelling really well and it will be a thrill to debut it in front of our fans, old and new. I'm very excited to bring the material from In Vaults and our previous albums alive in all of these great cities and venues. District 97 Announces Lineup Changes

Following the triumphant release of third full-length album, "In Vaults" earlier this year, Chicago prog/alternative rock act District 97 confirms several changes in the band's lineup in advance of upcoming tour dates.

Through a fully amicable separation, District 97 has parted ways with Rob Clearfield and Patrick Mulcahy, replacing them with two other talented Chicago-based musicians Andrew Lawrence on keyboards and Tim Seisser on bass. The rest of the band is grateful to Clearfield and Mulcahy for their immeasurable contributions to the band for for nearly a decade, yet is excited to welcome the new members aboard for their next chapter.

With the new member installations complete, the new DISTRICT 97 lineup will take to stages around the globe next year. While dates are still being nailed down, these shows have been confirmed:

Chicago's District 97 has just released a trailer for impending third studio full-length, "In Vaults" (due out June 23rd), which showcases the album's cover art, photos, and clips from several tracks found on the release.

The band's third album for Laser's Edge, "In Vaults" boasts more than an hour of District 97's unique brew of prog rock, metal, alternative, classical, pop and jazz influences with nine brand new tracks.

The album was recorded at IV Lab Studios in Chicago, engineered by Chris Harden with additional engineering by Shane Hendrickson, mixed by Rich Mouser and Jeff Fox at The Mouse House Studio and mastered by Bob Katz at Digital Domain. Cover artwork was designed by Björn Gooßes. More...
