Black Mare Announces Album, Tour Dates
Amidst a backdrop of political strife wherein such fundamental principles as the health, safety, and common decency toward women continue to erode more with each executive order and Twitter tantrum, the spirit of Black MMare stands unbridled under the singular vision and limitless purview of its driving force, one Sera Timms.
"Death Magick Mother" is the second proper full-length album from Los Angeles, California’s Black Mare, offering up seven new songs mixed by Andrew Clinco of Drab Majesty and mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound Mastering.
The album will see release digitally via Magic Bullet on September 15th with LPs to follow.
Following a recent midnight ceremony in celebration of a total eclipse with France’s Celeste and a mass replete with a bloodletting ritual, Black Mare will take on a traditional tour of the western United States in direct support of Junius. See confirmed dates below. More...

Black Mare is the dark ambient side project of Ides Of Gemini frontwoman, Sera Timms. On "Low Crimes," bandmates from Ides Of Gemini and Mustard Gas & Roses (MGR) contribute to an aurally lush, yet glacially-paced music.
"I was trying to capture a deep, lush underworld feeling on 'Low Crimes,'" elaborates Timms of the track, "but I wanted there to be a thread of light and softness. My own voice was not providing this, so I ended up having Tara Vanflower from Lycia add backing vocals which gives the vocal parts this perfect ethereal shimmering quality just hovering above the darkness." Magic Bullet is pleased to unveil two brand new and exclusive tracks from Los Angeles, California's Black Mare and Mesa, Arizona's Lycia.
Black Mare is the dark ambient solo project of Ides Of Gemini front woman, Sera Timms. On "Low Crimes," bandmates from Ides Of Gemini and Mustard Gas & Roses (MGR) contribute to the sonic journey; an aurally lush, yet glacially-paced cruise through Timms' frozen world wherein she encourages the mind's eye to notice relics like the feathers of fallen angels scattered about the snow.
Lycia initially came to prominence back in the late '80s and '90s with groundbreaking darkwave and ethereal wave styles featuring heavily reverbed guitars, dark/ethereal keyboard tones, and ominous programmed drums that pushed the gothic scene forward.
The title goes immediately out of print after Record Store Day (April 18th). Exclusive cover art and insert art by the bands themselves round out this frostbitten slab of wax. More...
