Cold Blooded Posts "No Hope = No Problem"

A new video from death/thrash/grind outfit Cold Blooded just came online this morning. “No Hope = No Problem” is taken from the newly released album "Throneburner," which dropped via Blackhouse Records. Though a dark and cathartic track about the ills of society, vocalist Ethan Kennedy has a different perspective on the “No Hope = No Problem” video itself.

Kennedy said: "it’s primarily a live video as we recorded our performance as well as off-stage antics. We filmed this during the Volume Music Festival in Spokane. It was an especially great night as the organizers (the Spokane Inlander newspaper) were cool enough to let Blackhouse records have a whole night to showcase their vast roster. Being able to share the stage with Slug Christ and Ras Kass as well as our regional counterparts in Zan, Scatterbox, Infrablaster and Narrow Minded made the shoot truly memorable.”

Cameos from many of the Blackhouse family (including label honcho Scott Rozell) also appear in the video. Inspired by the division in the country during the recent presidential election as well as violence in America, "Throneburner" is a particularly turbulent album. Further adding to the sonic fury is Bill Nieman in the Producers chair and Topon Das (of avant-grind freaks, Fuck The Facts) who contributes several sound-collage interludes and masters the record.

The band has several upcoming live shows scheduled, including:

8/18 Seattle, WA The Kraken Klaw
8/19 Everett, WA Tony V’s Garage Klaw, Method 13
8/31 Spokane, WA The Pin Decapitated, Thy Art Is Murder More...

Cold Blooded Streams "Forever War"

“Forever War” - a new track from Spokane, Washington’s own Cold Blooded - just came online and can be heard below. A sludgy song of epic proportions, the track is taken from the forthcoming full-length album "Throne Burner," due to be released via Blackhouse Records (Prison Religion, Ras Kass) on 7/21 and produced by Bill Nieman.

Speaking on the album’s title and lyrical through-line for the songs, vocalist Ethan Kennedy said: “In the past I wrote lyrics inspired by books or films that affected me. However with Throne Burner I started writing shortly before the presidential election and I knew no matter who won, a good deal of this country would be supremely pissed off and extremely divided.

"I wrote about all the negativity and violence in America and the influences that in turn has on our society. Some songs are from the perspective of someone directly affected by the violence, some deal with those of us viewing it in the media and even to the perspective of someone who wants to perpetrate the violence.”

To further hone the sonic chaos the band enlisted Topon Das of avant-grind freaks Fuck The Facts to contribute several sound-collage interludes (as well as master the record). Speaking on Das’s relationship to the band, Kennedy related: “we’ve opened for Fuck The Facts several times and they are one of our favorite bands. We also bonded because our old drummer owns a food truck of some renown and we invited them down after a show to gorge themselves. That definitely solidified our friendship.” More...
