False Flag Streaming "Sacrifice Of Solitude"

The track "Sacrifice of Solitude" off of the "Nest of Vipers" EP from Calgary groove metallers False Flag is now online. This track is the first song off the 2015 EP slated to be released Tuesday, August 4th and available for pre-order here.

The Calgary four piece wanted to ensure that fans would not be completely caught off guard by the changes from this new EP to older albums like "Orobas" (2013) or "Suffer In Silence" (2014), commenting:

"We wanted to start the EP off with a familiar sounding song, something that could have been off our last album or our first EP. 'Sacrifice Of Solitude' is a solid, mid tempo rocker with a bouncy groove throughout. The lyrics deal with the spreading of lies through disinformation and the defiance of blissful ignorance. The song also features guest vocals from Garrett McElroy from Afterearth (Who also engineered and mixed the new EP at his studio)."

See False Flag live on these dates:

July 21 - Medicine Hat, AB - Liquid w/ Statue of Demur, Leave The Living, Morbidly Depraved
July 22 - Regina, SK - The Club w/ Statue of Demur and guests
July 23 - Saskatoon, SK - Vangelis Tavern w/ Statue of Demur

False Flag Reveals "Nest Of Vipers"

After playing the Farmageddon festival, False Flag is now ready to reveal details on the "Nest Of Vipers" EP. Due out August 4th, 2015 as a self-released endeavor through Bandcamp, the track listing will be as follows:

1. Sacrifice Of Solitude
2. Perfidious
3. Reversion Of Sin
4. Nest Of Vipers

Formed in 2012 as a side project for Russ Gauthier (Lordosis, Meggido, and We Found The Body) and Nick Purdy (Meggido), they soon recruited Garrett McElroy (AfterEarth) as a bass player and recorded a first EP at Garrett's apartment studio.

Prior to performing at Calgary Metalfest, the band recruited Dan Ishak (Meggido, Stinger) on bass as Garrett's band Afterearth was picking up steam. In January 2014 False Flag started recording the full length album "Suffer In Silence." Finally guitarist Mike Harach (Meggido, Stinger) was added and solidified the band's thick live sound. John Byskal (We Found The Body) joined the band (replacing Nick Purdy) in February 2015 and the lineup was settled as work began on "Nest Of Vipers." More...

False Flag Releasing EP, Announces Live Shows

It's coming.... "Nest of Vipers," is the third release from Calgary’s False Flag, and this time the band is taking to the road.

False Flag's signature bottom end sound was mastered by Alan Sasha Laskow at Perfect Fifth (Every Hour Kills, Divinity, Death Toll Rising, and Titan’s Eve) and the new EP is slated to be available August 4th. Russ Gauthier (guitar & vocals) comments:

"We are very excited to share our new EP 'Nest Of Vipers' with our fans and peers, but especially the people that haven't heard us yet. This EP is a huge push forward, in that it showcases our many influences while still keeping the same low tuned groove that our fans have come to expect from us. The songwriting, performances, and production are finally up to our own standards and we are more excited than ever to unleash these heavy tunes for you all to hear!"

We truly feel that Farmageddon is being recognized for the international and Canadian talent fans get to experience during an intimate setting while in Alberta's back hills. We focus hard on bringing people's favorite bands to the festival that very rarely make an appearance in Western Canada, and I feel that we've hit the nail on the head for 2015."
