Eohum Streaming New EP

Montreal black metallers Éohum unleashed their new EP "Ealdfaeder" today via Mycelium Networks. Recorded at Chris Donaldson's (Cryptopsy) The Grid, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with the addition of seducing French Horn.

The follow-up to debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch” features a line up of band founder Jeremy Perkins (guitar) who birthed the band from a poetic project, the return of Annie Perreault (French Horn/Flute), Sylvain Dumont (Guitar), Barrie Butler (Vocals), plus new comers Cesar Franco (bass) and Luca Belviso (drums), along with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist).

Band founder Jeremy Perkins comments: “The EP speaks generally about the lost voice of past cultures who were colonized and the decaying relationship humanity has with nature due to the societies we live in. The loss of traditions we held and relationships we had with nature.” More...

Eohum Posts "Ode To A Martyr"

Montreal black metal band Eohum is streaming new single "Ode To A Martyr" below, courtesy of NefariousRealm.com.

"Ode To A Martyr" comes off impending EP "Ealdfaeder," set to drop on March 18th. Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments: "'Ode To A Martyr' is the more doom influenced black metal song of the EP. With a deep guttural and low tone harmony we unleash the pure black riffs with our usual ease.

"Thematically I bring forth the realities behind the annihilation of tradition, the symbiotic relationship a populace has with their hunting grounds and the loss of this relationship due to dogmatic and political rule. The title reflects to me those whom have gone far to push an idea or stance on socio-cultural aspects and that finally made great change liberating us of tyranny and oppression." More...

Eohum Streaming New Song

Montreal black metallers Éohum are streaming third single "Unmasking A World of Deceit" off their upcoming EP "Ealdfaeder," set for release on March 18th.

Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments: "'Unmasking A World of Deceit,' this is the brutal blend of death and black with a great old school break for metal lovers, a signature for us now!

"The song speaks of the human race led astray by the rupture between us and our origins leading way to a more fabricated and plastic so to speak version of the human animal, where our wisdom and involvement in positive actions is depriving our world and leading, seemingly to a bleak future."

The EP was recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) “The Grid” with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay of The Agonist on tracks 2-4-5. "Ealdfaeder" features a line up with band founder Perkins on guitar along with the return of Annie Perreault on French horn/flute, guitarist Sylvain Dumont, vocalist Barrie Butler, plus new comers bassist Cesar Franco and drummer Luca Belviso.

Eohum Streaming "Eurocide"

Montreal black metal band Éohum is now streaming second single "Eurocide," taken off upcoming EP "Ealdfaeder," which is set for release on March 18th.

Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments: "'Eurocide' is the opener to our EP, a direct introduction with sounds of flutes and drum, influenced by the Celtic and Gaulic sound. Notes you would of heard in ancient Druidic ceremonies and festivals.

"It is a song I keep close to my heart and I believe it can be seen as our manifesto, speaking of the loss of tradition, culture and identity, these being side effects of any form of colonization and indoctrination of any peoples on Earth throughout the globe at any time in history. I think every culture can come together and relate globally. More...

Éohum Announces New EP

Montreal, QC based Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) formed in 2010 as a traditionalist cultural band produced from the mind of guitarist Jeremy Perkins to create a relentless, anthemic groove-tinged black metal to emphasize a message clearly depicting people's lack of interest in the past relationship we held with nature and our ancestral ways.

Unleashing debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch” in 2015, Éohum returns in 2016 with latest offering "Ealdfaeder" set for release on March 18th. The EP was recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) “The Grid” with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay of The Agonist on tracks 2-4-5.

This mini album also features a line up with band founder Perkins on guitar along with the return of Annie Perreault on French horn/flute, guitarist Sylvain Dumont, vocalist Barrie Butler, plus new comers bassist Cesar Franco and drummer Luca Belviso.

Check out first single "The Apathetic Plague" below. Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments: "'The Apathetic Plague' is the track I am most proud of, the arrangement and overall producing came out strong and clearly depicts Éohum sound as a whole with our full lineup and new skin!

"The message projected in this song lyrically reveals our main message and thematic in this EP; being the loss of interest and connection between human cultures and the environment they are from in our greed filled, corrupt world of today. Apathy runs deep replacing our roots and ancestral symbiotic ways!" More...

Guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments:

"'Thus Spewed Thy Infectious Reign' starts with a salad of doom riffs, gutturals and cleans, slowly progressing mid-way through the song to a relentless black death anthem. Transitioning between both worlds, this song has the capacity to keep the attention of an array of metal lovers. Type of song you want to put on a loop or that haunts your conscious for a couple of days! Lyrically speaks of our point of no return as a species, unless we awaken from our deep sleep and brings to surface the many coma-tic ways of our times. One of my personal favorites from 'Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch'." More...
