ProgPower USA XVI, Part 3: Falconer's Last Show
7:30am – September 11, 2015.
In any other place, at any other time of the year, 7:30am feels like noon. After last night’s Dragonland experience, it felt way too early. As a perpetual early riser, this one felt like grim death. I’m getting to old for this – restricted to two maybe three occasions a year that I would even consider staying out until 4:30-5:00am. I needed coffee….buckets of it. Where was Lance King and his trusty “Awakenings” blend when I needed it! Riiiiight, the main merch area doesn’t open until noon today.
Well, I couldn’t fall back asleep now…I might wake up at 3pm and I had an 11am sponsor meeting with Glenn Harveston. I cannot miss that one. Just a day earlier when arriving in Atlanta, I learned that since the issues with Hibria forced my sponsored band off the roster, I would now be proudly co-sponsoring Jeff Scott Soto. Nothing wrong with that! Here is a legend that now gets an extended set to celebrate his 30th anniversary – so I was expecting to hear solo material, Yngwie Malmsteen material and Talisman material at least! Truly exciting stuff….when one door closes, another opens wider! More...
Jeff Scott Soto To Replace Morgana Lefay At PPUSA
Legendary hard rock/metal vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman, T.S.O., ex-Yngwie Malmsteen) has been confirmed for the sold-out ProgPower USA festival this year in Atlanta, Georgia, replacing Sweden's Morgan Lefay, who became the latest victim of the USICS Visa System. In a special performance, Jeff will celebrate his entire 30 year career at the festival performing songs from many of his bands along the way, including Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Pell Rudi, W.E.T., Rock Star, as well as his solo releases.
Jeff stated: "Having known about the ProgPower USA fest for years, I'm proud to be invited to present the ONLY US show this year with my 30th anniversary show! Me and the boys couldn't be more excited to rock Atlanta!"
Promoter Glenn Harveston added: "I’m honestly still in awe Jeff has graciously stepped up to the plate to help us out at the last minute. I can say I have never had such an amazing and quick conversation with an artist when it comes to booking a band. That is not only a sign of a true professional, but someone wanting to perform for our festival audience. Nothing fires up this crowd more than knowing a legendary name like Jeff Scott Soto actually wants to be in Atlanta. I'd also like to thank Sun Hill Management for the great response time."
Jeff Scott Soto recently took part in the sold out T.S.O./Savatage two stage spectacle at Wacken this past weekend. His latest solo release "Inside the Vertigo," under the monikor Soto, was released by earMusic back in January. More...

Soto Posts "The Fall" Lyric Video, Details Debut
Jeff Scott Soto – one of today's premier Rock frontmen and vocalists – and a union of hotshot young musicians bring you a blend of melody and muscle in some of the freshest power metal to surface in years. Together they are Soto, and the debut album “Inside The Vertigo” will be released on January 30th via earMusic.
Described as a "neurotic blend of power metal, prog, groove-laden huge guitars, hooks and production," Soto plans to be a contender in today's modern Rock arena while capturing the essence of strong songwriting simultaneously.
Jeff explains, 'I've been in the game for a long time but my roots started more on the heavier side of the tracks, I thought it was about time I came home to visit the family and stick around for a while!."
The band is comprised of Jeff's most current solo band, who he insisted on making this musical merge with him. Jorge Salan (lead guitar), BJ (keys, guitars), David Z (bass) and Edu Cominato (drums). Soto adds, 'These guys come from different parts of the world and bring their own influence to make this band very special. From the US to Europe to South America, we have an exciting mix of style and prestige that keeps us all on our toes." More...
