Black Fast Negotiates "Terms Of Surrender"
America’s newest neo-classic riff masters from Black Fast will release their all new LP "Terms Of Surrender" on August 7th, 2015 via eOne Music. The label comments:
"Ripping pages from Death's technical death metal guidebook, the St. Louis foursome conjures the spirit of the late, great Chuck Schuldiner while channeling the viciousness of Megadeth's young-and-hungry Dave Mustaine and blistering aggression of Kreator’s Mille Petrozza. The band tapped veteran producer Erik Rutan for the effort on their debut LP for eOne Music. Known for his work with Hate Eternal, Six Feet Under, Goatwhore, and Cannibal Corpse, Rutan was an easy choice."
"We can't wait to work with Erik Rutan! Erik is a legend." says front man Aaron Akin. "Excited doesn't even do justice to the mind frame we are in. I've followed his work for over a decade, and he's been at it for way longer than that. I mean, it's fucking Erik Rutan!"
"Black Fast has an amazing blend of heaviness and melody," says Rutan. "Their aggressive and raw style has a very unique approach and an immense energy to it. Black Fast has an interesting range of influences in their music, making it impossible to stereotype or pigeon hole. I think the recording process went fantastic and feel this is an album metal fans will truly appreciate."
New album "Terms of Surrender" will be the band's followup to the previously self-released "Starving Out The Light." Stay tuned for more details to come shortly. More...
Black Fast Entering The Studio
St. Louis metal outfit Black Fast will enter Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, FL this week with veteran producer Erik Rutan to begin work on a debut LP for eOne Music.
Known for his work with Hate Eternal, Six Feet Under, Goatwhore, and Cannibal Corpse, Rutan was an easy choice for the band.
"We can't wait to work with Erik Rutan! Erik is a legend," says front man Aaron Akin. "Excited doesn't even do justice to the mind frame we are in. I've followed his work for over a decade, and he's been at it for way longer than that. I mean, it's fucking Erik Rutan!"
"I am very excited to work with Black Fast," Rutan says himself. "They have a very unique style with a ton of energy, creativity, and a certain aggressiveness and fire rarely seen in this day and age of music. From the moment I first heard them I knew that we would be a great pairing in making a massive album. Their potential is limitless and their originality and creativity shows no boundaries. I look forward to bringing out the best of them in their performances and helping craft a masterful record!"
Black Fast recently announced a new record deal with eOne Music and plan on releasing the effort later this year. The yet-to-be titled LP will be the band's follow-up to the self-released "Starving Out The Light."
Black Fast Signs Record Deal
The Midwestern progressive thrashers from Black Fast have announced a worldwide deal with eOne Music. The band is planning for an all new full-length LP next year and could not be more excited.
"What an amazing day for not only Black Fast, but for every local heavy metal band out there," says guitarist/vocalist Aaron Akin. "Our signing to eOne Music is a reminder to keep grinding, writing, rehearsing, opening up for nationals, developing relationships and doing whatever it takes."
The yet-to-be titled LP will be the band's follow-up to "Starving Out The Light." Akin continues: "We want to thank everyone who helped make this day happen, including our favorite national bands like Havok and Battlecross for spreading the word, the metal blogs for the great reviews, our management for guiding us, promoters for booking us, and to eOne, for thinking we are worthy of joining a roster of artists that include legends like Overkill, Unearth and High on Fire."
Stay tuned for more info on studio developments and tour announcements, and in the meantime catch the band live at The Firebird in St. Louis with Battlecross on November 30th. Finally, Akin concludes: "We promise not to disappoint any of you. Expect to hear the torture and fun that we have making music together, our honest desire for creating heavy metal and our appreciation for this opportunity to translate into a high-energy live show and the best records that we can make."
