Soulburn Posts Song From New Album
Dutch blackened death metal band Soulburn will soon release third studio album "Earthless Pagan Spirit" on November 18th, 2016 via Century Media Records. Today you can heard opening track "Where Splendid Corpses Are Towering Towards The Sun."
Soulburn vocalist/bassist Twan van Geel checked in with the following comments: "We are proud to present you the opening track from our upcoming album 'Earthless Pagan Spirit'. This song is a classic ode to the supremacy of the blackest of Metal.
"'Where Splendid Corpses Are Towering Towards The Sun' ravishes straight through the high hopes of a self-proclaimed righteous people and their plastic vanity. And at the triumph of their death, scorched by the sun of their own divinity, in the serene mist from their ashen skulls, we dance." More...
Soulburn Releasing New Album
Dutch blackened death / doom group Soulburn just announced the completion of a new, third studio album release, entitled "Earthless Pagan Spirit," and set to drop on November 18th, 2016 via Century Media Records.
Following 2014's "The Suffocating Darkness effort," this new album was recorded in The Netherlands at Harrow Studio as well as Double Noise Studio and then mixed and mastered by Magnus "Devo" Andersson at Endarker Studio Sweden (Marduk, Ofermod, etc.).
Vocalist & bassist and Twan van Geel checked in to say: "Soulburn's 'Earthless Pagan Spirit' marks the band's third full-length album since the 1996 debut album 'Feeding On Angels.' As people often say about a band's third album is that it should show the bands 'true' face. Well, 'Earthless Pagan Spirit' melts the rough elements of the past in perfect balance with the corrosive taste of the new. Showing a band who have set out a delicate blend of old school breathing black metal that strengthens its venom with a poisonous twist of doom and death metal.
"Where its predecessor 'The Suffocating Darkness' already wandered, 'Earthless Pagan Spirit' sets its sails further down the blackest of seas. Lyrically ' Earthless Pagan Spirit' is breathing a Nietzschean storm upon this narrow minded religious plague this world is infested by. A serpent's tongue spreading fear to some, yet a glorified temptation to others. Those who read between the lines may illuminate in its satanic glare and find new meaning in them." More...

Soulburn Streaming New Track
The release date for "The Suffocating Darkness," the sophomore album by Dutch blackened death metal band Soulburn, is drawing near - due out November 17th in North America and November 14th in Europe.
For a preview of the album, be sure to check out the new single, "In Suffocating Darkness," via the player below.
Soulburn's drummer (and ex-Asphyx founding member) Bob Bagchus comments: "'In Suffocating Darkness' is the title-track of our upcoming album. It's a mid-paced straight-to-the-core track with sawing riffs, down to earth upbeats and vocals full of hatred."
In regards to the impending album release, Bagchus adds: "'The Suffocating Darkness' is the 2nd album we do with Soulburn and it represents the vision we have with Soulburn for 100%. Greatly influenced by old Bathory / Celtic Frost / Venom, we finally did on this very album what we already intended to do in 1996. People know us for our non-compromise attitude, and that is exactly what can be expected from 'The Suffocating Darkness' once again. Only this time it's a lot darker effort and filled with morbid grimness. It all came out exactly how we wanted it to be, also due to Dan Swanö's powerful mix." More...
Soulburn Streaming "Under The Rise Of A Red Moon"
After some triumphant live-debut shows supporting Bolt Thrower and Morgoth, Dutch blackened death/doom metallers Soulburn are getting ready to release sophomore album, "The Suffocating Darkness," via Century Media Records on November 17th.
Consequently, Soulburn is now debuting the first song off the upcoming album. Check out "Under The Rise Of A Red Moon" below, thanks to Terrorizer.com.
Soulburn's Bob Bagchus comments: "This track shows well what Soulburn is all about: cold, dark and grim blackened doom/death metal. 'Under the Rise of a Red Moon' is furious and contains all the elements we love the most about metal. This song also shows that one does not need many riffs to create a grim atmosphere...this is a mid-paced assault with a pure and heavy 80's feel, just how we wanted it!"
New album "The Suffocating Darkness" was recorded with Harry Wijering (Harrow Productions) and mix/mastering duties were taken over by Dan Swanö (Unisound Recordings). The artwork was designed by Timo Ketola and additional artwork was provided by Roberto Toderico. Catch Soulburn live:

Soulburn To Release New Album
Soulburn will release new album "The Suffocating Darkness" via Century Media Records and has announced shows with Bolt Thrower. Century Media comments:
"Originally, Soulburn emerged after the demise of Dutch death metal legend Asphyx in the mid 90’s, when founding members Eric Daniels (guitars) and Bob Bagchus (drums) looked for a seperate outlet to unleash their mutual obsession with Bathory, Venom, Celtic Frost and unite it with a dark, doomy and primal death metallic twist.
"After a demo and the cult 'Feeding On Angels' debut album via Century Media Records in 1998, which featured Wannes Gubbels (Pentacle) on vocals/bass, Soulburn were put to rest and seemed to be a mere transitional act before Asphyx achieved a short-lived return for 'On The Wings Of Inferno' (2000) with the same line-up.
"Soulburn was dead, buried, but not forgotten... And now, 16 years after their debut album, the blackened death metal merchants return to the surface by signing a new worldwide recording agreement with Century Media Records in their new line-up shape that again features the core of Eric Daniels (guitars) and Bob Bagchus (drums), teaming up with Twan van Geel (Flesh Made Sin, Legion Of The Damned) as vocalist/bassist and Remco Kreft (Grand Supreme Blood Court, Nailgun Massacre, Xenomorph) as second guitarist."
Soulburn's drummer and founder Bob Bagchus checked in with the following comment about this return: “Bringing Soulburn back to life was a natural thing to do since the inspiration was huge, more than ever before. Playing the old songs as well as the new incantations is a blessing. The riffs and thus the songs kept coming and coming and we knew we were on the right track. The new deal with our longtime label Century Media Records was the next logical step…” More...
