Everthrone Deals With "Loss"
In the second time this month, Metal Underground.com is proud to host the world premiere of South Carolina progressive metal act Everthone's newest music video. Back on October 6th, the band unleashed a stream of "Consciousness". Today, the band deals with "Loss" with the superb ballad from the upcoming sophomore release "The Dawning," which is set to drop via Divebomb Records on October 30, 2015.
For "The Dawning," Everthrone has once again teamed up with producer Don Debiase of Lava Room/Studio D in Cleveland, OH, creating another innovative and bold approach to the band's dark wave-driven metal.
On "Loss," the band deals with the debt all men must pay....death. Just like the song, the video showcases the band's classier side, with the band all spiffed up and keyboardist Chris Carland performing on a 1922 Steinway Grand Piano.
In celebration of the release of "The Dawning," Everthrone will perform the album in it's entirety at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC on November 27th.

Everthrone Seeks "Conciousness"
South Carolina progressive metal act Everthone has returned with the sophomore release "The Dawning," which is set to drop via Divebomb Records on October 30, 2015. The band has granted Metal Underground.com the exclusive premiere of the music video for the new track "Consciousness," which you can check out in the player below.
Looking to capitalize on the acclaim of the debut album "Evil Tongues," Everthrone has teamed up with producer Don Debiase of Lava Room/Studio D in Cleveland, OH, and has sculpting 10 new tracks that beautifully showcase an innovative and bold new approach to the band's dark wave-driven metal.
With "Consciousness," the band does more than symbolically break chains - they step up their already high expectations. With the unique style of vocalist Russell Plyler backed by stellar musicians Nevin McKeown (guitars), Jeremy McKeown (drums), Chris Carland (keyboards) and Daniel Carner (bass), Everthrone will truly turn heads with the break out release "The Dawning." In speaking with Chris Carland, the band feels that this album best represents the true sound of Everthrone - represented in the title "The Dawning" - which they feel is more of a cohesive album, with each song complimenting in styles, as opposed just a collection of songs.

Everthrone Announces "The Dawning"
No strangers to Divebomb Records, South Carolina’s Everthrone has returned to the label after the successful release of the Jamie King produced debut album, "Evil Tongues." You may recall the name Everthrone as a band we looked at in our examination of the DeLand Rock and Metal Festival.
Looking to capitalize on the acclaim of "Evil Tongues" and sharing stages with Fates Warning and Turisas, the group teamed up with producer Don Debiase at the Lava Room/Studio D (Cleveland, OH), sculpting 10 new tracks that beautifully showcase an innovative and bold new approach to dark wave-driven metal.
The result of this new creative partnership is "The Dawning," due out on October 30, 2015. In celebration of the release, Everthrone will be performing the album in it's entirety at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC on November 27th. Unearthing The DeLand Rock & Metal Underground
Each week in Unearthing the Metal Underground, we'll be putting a few quality underground bands in the spotlight in an attempt to get the word out about them. This week we take a look at some of the bands that took part in the recent DeLand Rock & Metal Festival from November 2014. Our report for the festival can be read at this location.
The DeLand Rock & Metal Festival – or “DRMF” as it is affectionately known by the festival's community – is one of the most diverse metal festivals in the United States. This past year there were days dedicated to death metal (or any style with a death style vocal, including old school death, deathcore, hardcore, melodic death and folk) and another day themed by power metal (or any power, traditional, hard rock act), the second of which is headlined by festival promoter Camden Cruz’s own…Seven Kingdoms. Immersed in an infectious sense of community and a plethora of local Florida acts (including the now defunct Massacre), there were also some out of town acts that really brought the “thunder” to the entire event.
Of three of those out of town acts, two of them had never once played a live show together. In fact, those two acts, Judicator and Project: Roenwolfe (both anchored by guitarist/songwriter Tucson, Arizona’s Tony Cordisco), had never met as a band ever until 45 minutes before they hit the stage back to back on the Friday night kick off show. America's Secret Metal Paradise
Most of us in metal love to complain about trolling, irrational vitriol, subgenre tribalism, and elitism online. Not to mention the fact that most of said complaining also takes place online.
It’s like plugging the cord of a power strip into the strip itself and expecting it to produce juice. No wonder nothing positive ever seems to get accomplished.
So how do we fix this?
Well, we can’t. At least we can’t fix others. We can, however, control ourselves and try new things from time to time. And when considering just how ridiculously much time we spend drooling in front of our screens, the simple act of attending live music concerts is indeed a “new thing,” or at least a relatively seldom thing. Sort of like shutting off Facebook and actually writing your best friend a letter.
But don’t the same issues manifest in our local clubs? A package tour comes to town, containing bands with separate (or, at best, overlapping) fanbases, which promptly begin to work against each other. Show me such a concert that isn’t brimming with guys judging each other’s perceived tastes, putting on airs by boasting “I’m only here for [insert obscure opener],” and I’ll show you my fourth nipple.
How about major European-style summer festivals? Don’t get me started. Don’t get me wrong, either; they’re ten tons of fun. But often the numbers are too immense for any type of bonding to occur on a mass scale. Crowds usually just devolve into cliques, all corresponding to their chosen favorite acts.
So there needs to be a middle ground. A unique event, rare and special enough to draw the enthusiastic, but familiar enough to include the curious. Small and precarious enough to forestall any jaded complacency, and large enough to foster a carnival atmosphere.
The musical equivalent of a big group of friends around a campfire, bonded not only by the fun they’re sharing, but also by the knowledge that one bad attitude will douse the good time in cold water.
For me, the DeLand Rock & Metal Festival was that event. And for the moment, it has alleviated some of my cynicism over the much-ballyhooed “brotherhood and sisterhood” concepts thrown around in metal.
Here, in central Florida, from November 7th through the 9th, these bonds were very much alive.

Promoters for the Metal Underground.com sponsored DeLand Rock & Metal Festival have announced that Pensacola deathcore act Sarcophagi has been added to the Saturday, November 8th portion of the event. Sarcophagi recently won the Sumerian Records battle of the bands to be added to the Summer Slaughter tour stop in St. Petersburg, FL on July 29th.

Promoters for the DeLand Rock & Metal Festival have announced that Tampa progressive metal act Fathoms Pass has been added to the Friday, November 7th pre-party event. The band replaces Chief Wiggum, which dropped off the roster for the festival. Fathoms Pass released the debut album "Before the Dawn" independently in 2013.
