Codex Parts With Bassist

Philadelphia's Codex has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's bass player:

"Hello all. This is Jesse, the bassist, and I unfortunately have some sad news. After our show this Saturday I will be stepping down as bassist for Codex.

"I've had some amazing times with these guys and I couldn't have asked for a more talented group of guys to have had the pleasure to work with. I'm leaving on good terms and we all remain best friends but sometimes life gets in the way and doesn't leave much room for anything else.

"Please come out this Saturday to our show in Lansdale and throw down with me and the guys one last time. Thank you all for the amazing times and don't stop watching Codex, these guys have some amazing things in store.

"ALL PROSPECTIVE BASSISTS – Get in touch with these guys now. Since I'm leaving they are gonna need a solid bassist and quick. Hint – We play in drop G so a 5-string or better helps. GOOD LUCK."

Sacred Serenity Calls It Quits

Sacred Serenity has issued the following announcement about calling it quits and forming a new band called Codex:

"So the time has come to tell you all what we have been doing for the past year and a half. First of all, we want to thank our fans and the bands we've shared the stage with during our time as SS.

"Without you we wouldn't be where we are today. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. With that being said, we have good news and bad news.

"First, the bad. We regret to inform you that we are laying Sacred Serenity to rest. We took the last year and a half to write a new record. And after listening to what we had written, we thought a lot about the direction of the band and what we wanted out of it this time around. Collectively, we decided that Sacred Serenity wasn't cutting it anymore.

"Now for the good news! We are officially announcing our new project Codex. With a fresh start and a new sound we are ready to hit the scene hard and fucking heavy. We hope those of you who enjoyed SS will follow us on this new path and continue your support and show as much love to this project as you did with SS."
