In April, South London riff-monsters Stoneghost released relentless and blistering debut album "New Age of Old Ways" on the Mascot Label Group and will now drop new single "Raynardine" on June 22nd.
The accompanying video sees the band virtually exploding out of a tiny basement to which frontman Jason Smith said:
“'Raynardine' is unrelenting, dirty, aggressive and has a no nonsense attitude that could only be portrayed in a video that embodies all of these qualities. Filth goes hand in hand with this song, we knew the video needed to show the beast it is in its natural habitat. A grime ridden dungeon.” More...

Stoneghost Reveals The "New Age Of Old Ways"
Sometimes you have to start from the present and work backwards to get a story in context. On April 6th, Stoneghost will release the relentless and blistering "New Age of Old Ways" on the Mascot Label Group (Black Label Society, Volbeat, Gojira, Joe Bonamassa), but the band very nearly never made it to this point.
Front man, tattoo artist, and mouth piece Jason Smith recalls: “I was having a kid and I couldn't cope with it, I didn’t think I would be able to carry on with the band too, I wasn’t in a good place.”
Deciding to depart with a powerful epitaph of what they were capable of, the band members were to collectively exit the world with a "New Age of Old Ways:" the last record of a promising but fledgling act, it was then that the reverberating noise reached the ears of Mascot and things were to change.
Formed in Bromley, South East London in 2007 amongst a thriving underground scene, Jason Smith (vocals) began the journey with Cris Finniss (Drums), Jamie Nash (Bass) and Andrew Matthews (Guitar) as Snakebite. The quartet quickly became a dominant fixture on the London circuit with their blend of hardcore, metal, and adrenaline-fueled rock.
In 2009 the group opened Bloodstock Festival and stormed the stage in front of 1500 people. This led to the band playing the Ronnie James Dio Stage at Bloodstock the following year alongside Opeth, Fear Factory, Children of Bodom, Gojira and the Devin Townsend Project. A trip to Germany to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival came next as did Metal Hammer's Hammerfest IV in 2012. More...

Bloodstock Announces "New Blood" Stage
The organizers of the Bloodstock festival have checked in with the following announcement about confirming more bands for the 2014 edition:
"Here at Bloodstock HQ we are excited to announce the first batch of breaking bands to grace the Hobgoblin-sponsored ‘New Blood’ stage this year.
"Bloodstock is very proud to support new bands from all over the world and the ‘New Blood’ stage gives us the platform to showcase grass-roots acts, underlining their belief that you don’t necessarily need a big record deal to have a shot at playing the festival.
"The following bands were chosen from CD applications to perform at Catton Park, while more will be added later via the ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ tour which kicks off on 10th May and rolls through local clubs and venues throughout June.
"This year’s tour is the biggest to date, encompassing 23 regions, including various UK cities, as well as events in Latvia, Norway, and the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey. The best bands are chosen from each event to land a spot at Bloodstock this year. So get down to your local M2TM’s venue to support the best in breaking metal!
"The lucky seven additions span a range of metal genres; Londoners Abhorrent Decimation (death metal), Canada’s Phantom (trad metal), Slovenian's The Canyon Observer (post-noise/sludge), Norway’s Angerman (grunge rock/metal), London outfit Brutai (metalcore), Scotland’s Scordatura (death metal), and South London outfit Stoneghost (hard classic rock).
"Has your fave new band not submitted yet? Fear not, for Bloodstock will keep hunting out new additions via CD applications, video uploads, and the aforementioned ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ tour for some weeks yet! There’s still time to enter! A full list of application options can
be found at this location."
