Destruktor Posts New Songs Online

Destruktor is streaming the tracks "Priestiality" and "Besieged" online, which both hail from the band's second album, "Opprobrium," set for international release on July 24th via Hells Headbangers. A statement from founding vocalist/guitarist Glenn Destruktor reads:

"We believe we have shown once again why Rome wasn't built in a day. 'Opprobrium' stems from many years of dedication, and was recorded with our longest-standing and strongest lineup to date. The small circle that has been subjected to our 'Opprobrium' believe it a step up from anything we have done before, and it would be very hard for us to disagree.

"Clearly a Destruktor release, 'Opprobrium' sticks to the formula of the past with total aggression, darkness, heaviness, and riff after riff of extreme metal that clearly sticks to the traditions of those long before. 'Opprobrium' is finally ready for release, and we are looking forward to smashing cunts live, and on your stereo with our new hymns of desecration!"

In other Destruktor news, the band is slated to play a first-ever U.S. show at Hells Headbangers' "Hells Headbash - Part 2" festival, set for September 4-6 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Agora Theater and Ballroom. More...

Hells Headbash II Lineup Anounced

Hells Headbangers just announced the final lineup for the label's three-day "Hells Headbash - Part 2" festival, set to take place in Cleveland, Ohio on September 4th - 6th.

After the first "Hells Headbash" last summer - which was held at the label's distribution warehouse, and was filmed for a special DVD release set for later this year - Hells Headbangers expanded the fest to include an additional day and with an even more epic lineup of HHR-affiliated bands.

Set to take place at the Agora Theater, "Hells Headbash - Part 2" will feature the first American performances by Satanic Warmaster and Destruktor and exclusive performances by underground legends Archgoat and Profanatica, as well as 31 other Hells Heabangers-supported bands that span the spectrum of death metal, black metal, thrash, grind, metalpunk, and plenty of filthy points in between. The full list of bands, in alphabetical order, are as follows: More...

Destruktor Releases Split With Throneum

An Australian/Polish celebration of barbarism awaits with "A Prophecy of Nihilism," joining together Destruktor and Throneum on a split 7".

Up first is Australia's Destruktor with "Besieged," a characteristically caustic attack that fuses the blackest of black metal and the deathliest of death metal.

Prolific like few others and always committed to the diehard metal cause, Poland's Throneunm follow with "Chtonian Lust," one of the band's rawest and most primal pounders, featuring some tastefully Bathorian soloing during the song's frenzied finale.

The 7" can be ordered via Hells Headbangers here, and the track listing is as follows:

Side A
1. Destruktor - Besieged
Side B
2. Throneum - Chtonian Lust More...

Destruktor Finishes Work On Album

Australian black/death act Destruktor has completed work on second album, "Opprobrium." Set to be released by Hells Headbangers later this summer, Destruktor's "Opprobrium" follows five years after the band's debut album, "Nailed."

Destruktor's vocalist/guitarist Glenn Destruktor simply states, "It thrashes, deaths, blacks, and even dooms..."

Once again recorded at 3 Phase studios in Melbourne with Sam Johnstone, "Opprobrium" features the lineup of Glenn Destruktor, drummer Jahred, and Brad Ollis on bass. A statement from Glenn Destruktor further reads:

"Finally, after many hours in the Destruktor dungeon, we return to unleash Opprobrium, our sophomore full-length. Seven blasphemous hymns have been conjured, and we are ready to desecrate the underground once again! Nailed set the standard - Opprobrium raises the bar! With Opprobrium, we show that we are not scared to try new ideas, but will never mistake creativity for wimping out! Half the album sounds like we could have written it 15 years ago; the other half keeps it interesting, adds darkness, ups the intensity, and kicks your head in even harder!"

A split 7" with Throneum will also be released shortly by Hells Headbangers, which will serve as a teaser for "Opprobrium," and will feature a promo recording of "Besieged," one of the seven songs set for release on Opprobrium.
