Lorenzo's friend, Alex Artemas, said, "Him and I were just walking to a friend's house, and it was just a complete random hit, came from behind, never saw it coming."

"The kid asked me, he said, 'Give me what you got.' And before I could even get my wallet out, he just shot me," said Tony.

Sons Of Azrael Replaces Drummer Derrick Sadkowski

Sons Of Azrael has replaced their drummer Derrick Sadkowski and replaced him with drummer Alex Chambers. A statement from former drummer Derrick Sadkowski reads as follows: “I’ve decided to step down as drummer of Sons of Azrael, this decision was made as I’m not confident in producing interesting and intriguing drumming on this upcoming album. My life has taken a few turns, and seems to be heading in another direction and touring/dumping my funds into a band seemed to become ambiguous, all things considered, I have to do what’s best for the band I helped create 5 years ago. By no means is the band grounded in any sense, since the Conjuration of Vengeance, they have found new talent in Karl Kirsch who has replaced Greg DiPasquale, and Alex Chambers who’s replaced me. Touring, and playing night-in night-out was one of the best experiences anyone could live through, and I’ll be thankful for everything- all the fans, Bud and Trevor over at Ironclad, parties, other bands I’ve shared the stage with, was great every time. As for other projects, I have a few things in mind, but I need to reinvent my drumming to achieve them. I promise I’ll be back around soon enough. Thank you”

The Classic Struggle Drops Off Tour

The Classic Struggle has dropped off the remainder of their current tour. Here's the official word:

"Once again I have terrible news. In the last week or so some complications with our record has come up and we have no choice but to cancel the remainder of the Sons Of Azrael, As Eden Burns tour along with our Canada run with The Breathing Process and The World We Knew to take care of these things and get this record ready for release for all you. We will still be doing the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and our U.S. tour with With Dead Hands Rising, A Breath Before Surfacing, and Ghost Of A Fallen Age. Also keep an eye out for us in the southeast playing one-offs and weekends. It’s been too long already and we need to focus on getting our new material into your hands. It would be impossible to get these things done correctly from the road, so we feel this is the best decision. Please keep checking back for more future dates to make up for all this cancelled shit."

As previously reported, The Classic Struggle had to cancel their dates this week following an injury to vocalist Tim Zlinksky, who recently shattered his wrist earlier in the month. Zlinsky had surgery to "rebuild his wrist with a metal plate and some screws" but was expected to be back on the road shortly.

Sons Of Azrael Part Ways with Guitarist

Sons Of Azrael issue the following update on their MySpace page:

"Due to musical and creative differences, Greg D has decided to part ways with us."

"Although a great loss, THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!"

"Greg’s Statement:
'It was a tough decision to make, but once again I have to follow my heart and guts on this one. The usual ’creative differences’ are the cause of this rift. Depending on how fast the band finds a replacement for me, I may still do a few more shows with them, but that is entirely up to the rest of the band. I’d like to thank Joe, Derrick, Tony and Bobby for the opportunity and for raging it up with me on and offstage for the last two years. Also I’d like to thank Trevor and Bud at Ironclad for the trust, support, friendship, and belief that they have shown and displayed during my time in the band. Last but certainly not least, the fans. Cheesy as it is, you make it possible and worthwhile to do what we do. You guys and gals rule. Fear not, the band will most definately continue without me, and will continue to rage, crush, thrash, and destroy any stage that dares to let them stand on it. As for me, I will be starting a new project in the next few weeks. No need to say what it’ll sound like, because if you know me, I’m sure you’ll have a good idea of what to expect. Take care, and keep your eyes and ears open.'" More...

Infernaeon and Sons Of Azrael banned in Fresno

Infernaeon and Sons of Azrael ran into some trouble on one of the first dates of their current tour. Here are the official statements from members of the bands:

Brian Werner of Infernaeon had the following to say:
"On Wednesday August 29, at The Exit, in Fresno, California, we were told by the club owner that we could not perform or sell our merchandise due to the graphic images depicted on our shirts and CD?s. We would have had to censor the lyrics in our songs and lose the stage show in order to play. My band and I have not been more insulted. Last time I checked, freedom of religion means any one person has the right to practice any religion of his choosing. This was a case of one person trying to enforce his religious convictions on all the fans that chose to buy a ticket. The decision was made to stand our ground with our brothers in Sons of Azrael, and not submit to any sort of censorship. We all come from various religious beliefs, and do not discriminate against anyone for their own. All we ask is to not be discriminated against for our beliefs and convictions. We did not do this just for ourselves. We did it for all of you, and your freedoms. This country was founded on the basis of unpopular speech, and the right to be free at any and all costs."

Joseph Siracuse of Sons of Azrael had this to say:
"This was an unfortunate situation for a number of reasons. We apologize to all the fans who paid to see our performance but this was a circumstance that required the protection of our convictions. The owner of this venue did say that we could perform if we cut certain songs from our set and removed all of our merchandise from the premises. This was unacceptable. It is our constitutional right to express ourselves. As individuals, we are very tolerant people. We do not condemn anyone for their beliefs and we expect the same in return. As musicians, our lyrics and music are our outlets for expression and trying to silence them is unjust. To our fans in Fresno, we'll be back. Hails"
