Dead In The Manger Streaming Full Album
Just days before 20 Buck Spin sets mysterious metal legion Dead In The Manger's "Cessation" LP loose upon the public, metal webzine Steel For Brains is hosting a stream of the entire torrential album (give it a listen below).
The follow-up to the anonymous act's malicious "Transience" EP, released approximately a year ago, Dead In The Manger's ominous objective is made all the more evident on this debut full-length endeavor, "Cessation." The album surely unleashes the expected searing and blast-driven grind/black metal alloy as its predecessor, yet also explores much more spacious and trance-inducing textures, opening portals to new realms of their insidious dimension through six unnamed movements.
20 Buck Spin will officially release "Cessation" this Tuesday, February 3rd, on 12" vinyl and through all prime digital outlets. More...
Dead In The Manger Releases New Video
The wrath of "Cessation," the debut full-length from sinister black/grind metal quartet Dead In The Manger, will scar humanity in less than two weeks through the Black Hand at 20 Buck Spin, and with it rapidly advancing, Decibel Magazine has unloaded the band's first official video as a harbinger of the album's severe fury. Check it out below.
Dead In The Manger, which purveys full anonymity in identity and content, similarly keeps the titles of these brazen audio attacks incredibly stripped down, with the movements on "Cessation" simply bearing the titles "I" through "VI."
Directed by David Hall of Handshake Inc. (Today Is The Day, Fuck The Facts, Maryland Deathfest The Movie), the "II" video is corrosive and epilepsy-inducing in its creator's patented style, and through an obfuscated but obviously occult driven plot for the belittling sermon, imposes more of an unsettling feeling rather than a clear cut storyline.
"This is probably the first time I've made a video for a band without talking to any of the members," offers Hall on being approached to create Dead In The Manger's "II" video. "I sort of just got an email one day from the label that asked if I'd be interested in making a video for a black/grind metal band. I listened to the track and really dug what I heard so I agreed. The only real info and guidance I was given was the name of the song, 'II', the album title, and the album's artwork. From listening to the track and taking the cover artwork as inspiration, I decided to try and create a depressing and degraded, impressionistic, moving version of the cover, and use some found footage, stuff that I shot, and mix it together to make a scratchy, black-toned void that hopefully assaults the eyes as nicely as the music assaults the ears. After a few botched attempts, I arrived at the version you see now." More...
Dead In The Manger Streaming New Track
20 Buck Spin is getting ready to bombard the planet with the latest output from Dead In The Manger as debut LP "Cessation" is prepped for an early February release.
Today the first single from the album has made its way online. Check out the track "Part IV" below, thanks to Noisey.Vice.com.
Dead In The Manger's content, song titles, and origin remain as unidentified as the members' identities, not to bury a hidden agenda or mask some smattering of mainstream entertainment icons from public scrutiny, but more to allow the artwork, music and belittling delivery to be the focal points of the flesh-cutting tunes.
20 Buck Spin, also responsible for Dead In The Manger's "Transience" EP early this year, will release Cessation on February 3rd, 2015, on 12" LP and through all digital outlets. More...
Dead In The Manger Releasing "Cessation" Album
20 Buck Spin begins confirming the label's massive 2015 release schedule with the announcement of "Cessation," the upcoming debut full-length from mysterious entity, Dead In The Manger. The label comments:
"In early 2014, a damaging new musical force made itself apparent, when Dead In The Manger appeared seemingly from out of nowhere with their debut EP, Transience, a six-movement EP which brandished a monstrous blend of extreme metal with elements born of black/war metal realms as well as standards of the grindcore movement in a seamless and endlessly destructive alloy.
"Dead In The Manger follows up the Transience debut with six new stages in the grief process, resolved in their adherence to dispiriting melodic atmosphere and frenzied black carnage, ever reaching upward yet inevitably pulled down into the mire.
"Whether grinding forth in a cascade of blinding black metal violence or cloaked in despondent post-rock gloom, Cessation leaves no space for hope, compelling the paradoxical embrace of suffering. As before, song titles, production credits, individual personalities and origins and all impertinent topical self-gratification remain trivial in service of the one true purpose for Dead In The Manger; internal disorder from external domination. The machinery of plutocratic slavery, churning and grinding the spirit of life until little remains but the last gasp of a doomed humanity, a cessation of the primal light in an absurdist nightmare." Dead In The Manger Streaming Full New EP
20 Buck Spin will soon flood the planet with the blazing and harrowing "Transience" EP, the debut recording from anonymous black metal/grindcore quartet, Dead In The Manger.
"Transience" is due out on MLP and digital formats in North America on April 29th and in Europe on May 2nd.
With just six songs in less than twenty minutes -- succinctly named Parts I-VI -- Transience melds atmospheric and pentatonic melodies into a maelstrom of bleak, scalpel-sharp, maximum BPM aggression and multiple stab wounds of hate-driven malcontent.
Ahead of its looming release, Metal Insider is today hosting a stream of all six bludgeoning movements, which can be heard below. More...

Dead In The Manger Signs With 20 Buck Spin
Olympia, Washington-based 20 Buck Spin announces today the induction of mysterious entity, Dead In The Manger. The label comments:
"Very little information was provided to 20 Buck Spin regarding Dead In The Manger when the label was initially contacted about a release, only that the band delivers a mix of depressive black metal and grind (which seemed on paper an impossible combination) and that the intention is to leave a feeling of unease and despondency in the listener.
"Nonetheless, a cursory listen to the outfit's debut MLP, 'Transience,' leaves no doubt that Dead In The Manger succeeds handily in creating music both brutally violent and coldly agonizing. More...
