After Forever Drummer Winning Battle With Cancer

AFTER FOREVER drummer André Borgman, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year, has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Since I promised to keep you posted about my condition and its progress, here is another update for you.

"I have been to the hospital yesterday for my results of the total body scan. The total body scan shows us still a few deviations in both lungs. Therefore I cannot be operated and we have to wait what will happen with those deviations. They aren't necessarily cancer cells, they can also be scar tissue. My doctor also told me that in 90 percent of all the cases they do get to operate the deviations proves to be scar tissue.

"The doctors will keep me under close observation for the next five years. And if something does happen and the cells do get active, they can act immediately.

"But still the best news is: I feel very well and strong and I hope to be performing again as soon as possible! First I have to see if my condition is good enough to play a whole show. The will to play again with my buddies on stage in front of you people is very big, so we'll see!"

AFTER FOREVER recently spent time at the Gate Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany recording their fourth full-length album, "Remagine". The group's latest album, "Invisible Circles", was released in March 2004 through Transmission Records. "Invisible Circles" is the follow-up to "Decipher", which was issued in 2001.

COB, Hammerfall To Headline Bloodstock 2005 Fests

BLOODSTOCK 2005 will comprise 2 separate festivals. The brand new outdoor show BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR ( B-O-A ) will take place on June 24th-25th 2005 at Catton Hall, in the Midlands, with the annual BLOODSTOCK05 – UK Metalfest taking place indoors at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on 2nd-3rd September 2005.

With the indoor festival now having reached capacity within the current location, the next logical step was to find an additional location, and the decision to go outdoors was an easy choice to make as the UK does not have an outdoor Euro-style Metal festival along the lines of Wacken, Bang Your Head and Summer Breeze (DE), Gods of Metal (ITA), Sweden Rock (SWE), Graspop (B), Dynamo (N) and so many more. The current choice of venue, Catton Hall, offers a fantastic location within a rural setting, centrally located within the UK for all areas to reach easily, and yes, camping will be provided. Our initial capacity is for up to 8,000 with further growth at the site to accommodate 20,000 within a few more years. More...

After Forever Name New Album

The following message has been posted on After Forever's official website regarding their upcoming album:

At the end of February the recordings of the fourth album of After Forever will start! After Forever will record the drums, bass guitar and the guitars in the Excess Studio in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) again.
The vocals, classical stuff and the mix will be done in the Gate Studio of Sascha Peath and Miro in Wolfsburg, Germany.

The writing proces has just finished and we are very happy about the results again! The songs are more compact, fresh, catchy and again; typically After Forever. In melodic aspect, the album will be more simular to Decipher.
For more specific updates about the music: check our forum!!!!!!

It will not become a concept album just like Invisible Circles. The songs have several subjects, some about your imagined life when you dream, some about the reality of this world.
The title will be REMAGINE.

Remagine means you can reflect on life and you imagine in. Both ingredients are there in the lyrics and in the music. The word is a combination between Reflection and Imagination.

The album will be released in September 2005!!!
We would love to see you on some of the summer festivals we are now planning to do to introduce some of the new songs there!!!

Keep checking www.afterforever.com about the progress of the recordings. After Forever will write a studio report every week when the recordings have started!!!
