OmnisighT Releases New Video

Following a recent drum playthrough vid, Vancouver progressive metal virtuoso OmnisighT has teamed up with Blackroom Films to release a new live video for the track "Shift The Paradigm."

The video was shot during the "Power Of One" EP release party on March 11th at The Astoria in Vancouver, BC. Check it out below. Guitarist Blake Rurik comments:

"'Shift The Paradigm' is definitely a track that features everything OmnisighT's known for: Extreme musicianship, big vocal hooks and great grooves. I was having some technical difficulties at the beginning of the song, but the show must go on! I've always liked music videos that show the realism of live performance, so I think it's pretty cool. It was awesome to debut the new material and shred it up live!"

The band's next Vancouver performance will be on May 11th at Pat's Pub & Brewhouse with Assimilation and Gatekeeper. Full details can be found over here. More...

OmnisighT Posts Drum Playthrough

Vancouver prog metal band OmnisighT recently unleashed latest effort "Power of One," and today the gropu is excited to share a new drum playthrough featuring Chris Warunki performing the title track.

Warunki comments on the newly released EP: "The 'Power Of One' is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. Guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists will all have something in-store for them here with this EP. We are excited to get this out to the prog/rock/metal masses both musically and lyrically.

"Speaking of lyrically, the album will come with a PDF booklet exclusive to our Bandcamp supporters. We took a 'more is more' approach with this one and it will be a real challenge, but a welcome challenge; to take it to the stage. We want to keep the musicianship in the music, that has been our agenda since day one!" More...

OmnisighT Posts "Seven Sisters"

Bringing progressive metal into new dimensions for those who enjoy explosive adventure, the Vancouver virtuosos from OmnisighT recently unleashed latest effort "Power of One."

Today the band is excited to share with fans a new lyric video for the "Seven Sisters" track in support of that EP. Vocalist / guitarist Raj Krishna explains:

"I wrote the 'Seven Sisters' riff just goofing around at home. I really didn't even like it that much! I still wanted to try it out live in the room though, and Chris our drummer put this super funky groove on it and I got a vocal off it right away.

"It's loosely based on the seven sisters oil cartel BP, Shell, Exxon, Texaco Standard Oil and the like. Basically it's about befriending people just to get at their resources. It's also in a 7/8 time signature through a lot of the song, so that's me just trying to be clever!" More...

Pit Stories: Gaining A New Fan

Ready for another dive straight into the pit? Every Tuesday we check in with bands and fans from around the globe to get their most memorable stories from live shows!

Recently our Pit Stories have been all about bad fan behavior, from an overly aggressive mosher getting booted from the venue by the Melvins to an especially eager fan crawling on stage and interfering with a Empyrean Throne show.

We're shifting gears this week to a much more positive interaction: drawing in metal heads who have never heard your band before and become a fan based off a strong live performance.

Raj Krishna from prog group OmnisighT shared the tale below of gaining a new fan during a Vancouver set. Footage of the person in question is available after the jump, where you can literally watch him work his way through the crowd towards the stage as he gets more and more into the music.

One of our best sets was at the Rickshaw in Vancouver, BC during Wacken Metal Battle Canada finals. We're pretty intense live, we can bring in cold fans that have never heard or seen us before. We knew we had a good set that night, and some cool videos of it.

One night we were hanging out and watching some Omni on you tube when we saw a vid of "Plasticine," the last song that night, which went over really well. The video is pretty shitty quality. The point is, this guys never heard of us and just decides to record us on his tablet.

The vid is shaking, the musics too loud, but it captures the energy! You can see throughout the song, he gets closer and closer to the stage until he's right in the pit. He's chanting OmnisighT by the end of the song! I'm pretty sure we got a brand new Omni fan that night!

Omnisight's upcoming EP "Power of One" is slated to arrive on January 20th, which follows 2016 live album "Live At The Theatre." Check out the title track and pre-order your copy over at Bandcamp here. More...

Omnisight Releasing "Power Of One"

Vancouver's progressive virtuosos from OmnisighT will be kicking off 2017 with the release of new EP "Power of One" on January 20th, which follows 2016 live album "Live At The Theatre." Vocalist/guitarist Raj Krishna comments:

“I think our guitar player fans will really like the new EP. I think fans of the songs will also be pleased with the thoughtful lyrics. I’m questioning the status quo. The song ‘Power of One’ is about how one person can make a difference in the world around them just with knowledge and a little spiritual balance. The album as a whole is a musical journey, there is the concept of standing up to the oppression and deceptions of the ruling class.”

"Power of One" will be available on iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp as of January 20th, 2017 and features the following track listing:

1. Shift The Paradigm (5:24)
2. Resistance (4:51)
3. Seven Sisters (6:32)
4. Fall of The Empire (7:04)
5. Power of One (7:11) More...
