Orange Goblin Announces North American Shows
With Orange Goblin's "Back From The Abyss" full-length now three weeks away from release, the band has confirmed the first North American tour in support of the record.
Set to begin December 1st and run through December 21st, Orange Goblin will return to the stage touring alongside Down, Bl'ast!, and labelmates King Parrot!
Vocalist Ben Ward comments, "I remember being a spotty 19 year old rushing out to the record store to buy the first Down album NOLA the very day it came out in 1994. Now, twenty years on, I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming that Orange Goblin are heading back to North America as main support to the mighty Down.

To be given this opportunity to go out to promote our brand new album, Back From The Abyss, to the Down fans is just a dream come true the rest of the band and I can't wait to get started. The fact that we also get to see Bl'ast and King Parrot every night just makes it all so hard to believe! Hail the Leaf! Hail the RIFF! Hail DOWN!"

Bl'ast! Announces New Tour Dates
Iconic Santa Cruz heavy fusion act Bl'ast! has confirmed a string of European tour dates this June, surrounded by widespread North American performances in May and July, in addition to a revamped live lineup.
Original Bl'ast! alumni, vocalist Clifford Dinsmore (also of Dusted Angel, Gargantula) and guitarist Mike Neider (LAB) will be joined by Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator) on bass and Joey Castillo (Queens Of The Stone Age, Danzig, Eagles Of Death Metal & Wasted Youth) on drums for the upcoming multi-continental run of upcoming tour dates.
On the subject of touring Europe, Mike Neider comments, "We couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit. Joey and Nick have shown tons of respect to the music and have added their blood to make even more manic and heavy! BL'AST! Is in full sound assault mode! We are looking forward to the upcoming dates, honestly, it feels never better! And to come over for the first time at this point in time will be a great display of heavy!" Vocalist Cliff Dinsmore adds, "We have such an amazing band chemistry going on right now...it's beyond anything I've experienced in all my years of playing with BL'AST! Nick and Joey's contribution to the band has brought it to a level of tightness and intensity that is totally insane!"
Oliveri and Castillo haven't played together since Queens Of The Stone Age over ten years ago. Joey C has this to say about being part of Bl'ast!: "Very Stoked to be playing with BL'AST! for a couple reasons: I go way back with the guys, be it when I was a kid playing in Wasted Youth, we did shows together, and I was always a fan. And obviously playing again with Nick Oliveri, my other old friend from our days in QOTSA together, makes it even that much greater and fun! Can't wait to get overseas to show what BL'AST! is all about, see ya soon!" More...

Bl'ast! Announces Live Shows
Following announcements over recent months proclaiming the release of "Blood!" -- the newly-released but vintage recordings from iconic '80s Santa Cruz act, Bl'ast! - the band now confirms a current live lineup which will take over stages in the coming weeks for the first time in over a decade and a half.
Original Bl'ast! alumni, vocalist Clifford Dinsmore (also of Dusted Angel, Gargantula) and guitarist Mike Neider, have recruited Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator) on bass and drummer Hoss Wright (The Exies, Mondo Generator) to flesh out the brand new 2013 live lineup.
Having bashed out a solid set behind closed doors in sessions in Los Angeles and Santa Cruz over recent months, Bl'ast! is ready to rage once again. The band has already been confirmed to supply support to the mighty Neurosis alongside YOB on two California shows at the end of the year: December 28th in Santa Ana, also with Helen Money, and December 29th in San Francisco, also joined by The Body. Another show is coming together in L.A. in mid-January with more shows to be announced shortly.
Stated Clifford Dinsmore on the band's newly re-ignited status: "The upcoming Neurosis shows really have us feeling the fire, and preparation has been intense! Nick and Hoss are really stepping up to the plate. This new lineup is vital in the continuation of Bl'ast! and the addition of new blood makes it even more bombastic and heavy."
12/28/2013 The Observatory Orange County - Santa Ana, CA w/ Neurosis, YOB, Helen Money
12/29/2013 The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco, CA w/ Neurosis, YOB, The Body

Bl'ast! Streaming Full "Blood!" Release
Today, Spin Magazine is hosting a stream of "Blood!," the newly-released but long-ago-recorded LP from iconic '80s Santa Cruz surf/skate/hardcore act, Bl'ast! Check out the full album at this location.
Now available worldwide via Southern Lord, the "Blood!" masters were unearthed by the members of Bl'ast! earlier this year and delivered to Southern Lord Recordings. The label immediately contacted Dave Grohl to mix the material at his 606 Studios, on the legendary Neve console as featured in the recent Grohl-produced documentary Sound City, preparing the album for release somewhere in the vicinity of two-and-a-half decades after their inception.
Additionally, the recordings were from a rare lineup in the band's lineage, being the only recordings ever made while short-lived second guitarist William Duvall (Neon Christ, currently the vocalist for Alice In Chains) was a part of the Bl'ast! family.
Bl'ast! Posts "Tomorrow" Track Online
Today Revolver is hosting the premiere of "Tomorrow," taken from infamous Santa Cruz hardcore act Bl'ast!
The track is pulled from a recently discovered lost recording session and can be heard below. The following press release was also issued about the upcoming Bl'ast! release "Blood:"
"Earlier this year the members of Bl’astunearthed vintage master tapes, and upon digging into the vat, discovered an entire album’s worth of material that was never released. Additionally, the recordings were from a rare lineup in the band’s lineage, being the only recordings ever made while short-lived second guitarist William Duvall -- Neon Christ, and currently the vocalist for Alice In Chains -- was a part of the Bl’ast! family. To help resurrect the deteriorated recordings, Southern Lord recruited fellow Bl’ast! maniac Dave Grohl, who completely remastered/mixed the tapes at his famed 606 Studios, on the legendary Neve console as featured in the recent Grohl-produced documentary Sound City. Now fully harnessed and ready to hit the streets as Blood! -- the first Bl’ast! album to see release since their 1989 Take The Manic Ride LP -- this long-lost collection of prime, influential skate/surf hardcore punk anthems will become available in North America on September 3rd on Southern Lord.
"Formed in 1982, Bl’ast! released their debut album, The Power of Expression in 1985, scorching audiences everywhere with their unique and innovative, technical and boundary-free style of raging hardcore punk. This caught the attention of SST Records who released the band's second album, It’s In My Blood, in 1987, as well as their third LP, Take The Manic Ride in 1989. Bl’ast!'s wide-eyed, ambitious approach and intense perseverance became an influence for many bands to come. Shortly after the release of Take The Manic Ride, the band broke up and their story was buried by time and dust....UNTIL NOW!" More...
Unreleased Bl'ast! Album Coming
A previously unreleased recording from Bl'ast! will soon see the light day via Southern Lord. The following press release was issued about the coming album:
"As far as stories of lost and found recorded material go, few tales can be told where all the pieces of the puzzle come together in fortunate ways, resulting in a brand new recording that surprised even the band themselves.
"Having formed in 1982, infamous Santa Cruz hardcore legends Bl'ast! released their first album, The Power of Expression in 1985. This debut blew everyone away and went on to become one of the highly sought after, 'must-have' hardcore albums of the ‘80s. Bl'ast! was beyond intense, continually pushing the boundaries of hardcore with their advanced musicianship, unstoppable energetic delivery and explosive live performances. This overwhelming power caught the attention of SST records, who released the band's second album, It’s In My Blood in 1987. Their third LP, Take The Manic Ride, was then released by the label in 1989. Bl'ast!'s wide-eyed, ambitious approach and intense perseverance became an influence for many bands to come. Shortly after the release of Take The Manic Ride, the band broke up and their story was buried by time and dust....UNTIL NOW!
"Earlier this year Bl'ast! guitarist Mike Neider contacted Southern Lord with news that he had found some mysterious old Bl'ast! master tapes in a abandoned storage locker. Greg Anderson, a Bl'ast! fanatic, wasted no time in sending the tapes to a studio to be baked. Needless to say, after 25 years gathering dust, the quality had deteriorated. Still, nobody could have anticipated what would follow. With the audio digitized, Southern Lord contacted fellow longtime Bl'ast! fiend, Dave Grohl about mixing this recording, his response was an enthusiastic 'FUCK YEAH!, LETS DO THIS!'
"Whilst inside Grohl's famous 606 Studios (and with the Neve console as featured in the recent Grohl produced documentary Sound City) an astonishing discovery was made; a completely unheard, unreleased Bl'ast! recording session from the mid-‘80s. More...
