Benchpress Streaming Split With Martyr's Tongue
Out now on Get This Right Records is the bellowing split EP between Pennsylvania-based Benchpress and Puerto Rico's Martyr's Tongue.
The full split is now available for streaming below, courtesy of No Clean Singing. You can also order the split on vinyl or digital formats over at this location.
Benchpress has confirmed a record release show in Lansdale, Pennsylvania joining Dysphoria, CDC, Frost Giant and others, taking place next Friday, May 23rd. Both bands will announce new live attacks in the coming weeks in support of the split and beyond. Stay frosty.

Benchpress Streaming Split Track
The Lewistown, Pennsylvania-based hardcore bandits in Benchpress are new streaming a new track off their upcoming splite 7" with Martyr's Tongue.

Benchpress Releasing Split With Martyr's Tongue
Get This Right Records is preparing to release a bulldozing split between two heavy-hitters in the contemporary hardcore circuit: a brutal showdown between Pennsylvania's Benchpress and Puerto Rico's Martyr's Tongue. The following press release was issued about the bands:
"Based out of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Benchpress formed in 2011 initially as a joke, the goal being to write beatdown anthems for gym-rats. Having developed into the metal-tinged, hard-hitting powerhouse the band is nowadays is the product of several lineup, influence and outlook changes over recent years, and with two EPs and a prior split under their belt, the quintet's future appears to be nothing but promising. Benchpress' venomous surge of hardcore in the realm of veterans Cold As Life and Merauder and on par with modern acts Suburban Scum, Empire of Rats and Harm's Way, is displayed through two tracks on side A of this new split, 'Penance' and 'Pissed Away,' recorded, produced and mastered by Carson Slovak at Atrium Audio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
"San Juan, Puerto Rico-based Martyr's Tongue lays down a landslide of pandemonium as corrosive as it is pulverizing. With several demos, splits and EPs released since 2001, the self-proclaimed 'five audio terrorists preaching world genocide through sonic warfare' unleash a brand of metallic mayhem born of the dark lords of Cleveland, Ringworm and Integrity, contemporized with more harsh noise, grime and electronic elements, putting them in the race with Rot In Hell, Full of Hell, Blind To Faith and the like. Their two anthems, 'Deconstructive Process' and 'Unholy Communion,' were mastered by Axel in San Juan, mercilessly overthrowing the B-side of this split platter.
The split is due out on vinyl and as a digital download on May 8th. The track listing is as follows:

Benchpress Comments On Touring With Wolf Down
Hardcore outfit Benchpress will soon be embarking on a tour with Wolf Down (dates available below), which brings up a question of bands with differing ideologies performing together. Benchpress comments:
"We've had a bunch of people ask us why Benchpress, a band full of ignorant, protein loving jabronies, is touring with the vegan, straight-edge band, WolfXDown.
"The second that we start to qualify what bands we're willing to tour with, based on the views they hold and the lifestyle they live, is the second that we lose focus and fall into a segregative mindset. Segregation and discrimination falls directly against every single thing that hardcore stands for.
"Maybe we can learn a thing or two from WXD? Maybe they can learn a thing or two from us? Who knows? Maybe we won't. And even if we don't, we're still going to mosh hard as fuck for 17 days because that band rips.
