Globe and Beast has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with the band's bassist:
"Tonight, we are playing The Boom Tomb Room with heavy hearts. It pains us to announce that our childhood friend and long time bassist, Evan, is leaving Globe and Beast.
"In the midst of all of our excitement for the debut of Grandfather's Axe, Evan has decided to pursue a career opportunity that, unfortunately, does not include music.
"We will not attempt to fill Evan's shoes, but we are definitely moving forward as a four piece, and have every intention of extensive shows/touring and writing more tunes for you all. Wish Evan well, and say hello to the new beast." More...

"From San Diego, Globe and Beast churn out anthemic hardcore, shrouded in gloom. Decibel's Kevin Stewart-Panko compares the band to the Rorschach/Deadguy/Kiss It Goodbye family tree and bestows these words upon the debut album: 'Noisy, sinewy, mathy, violent, metallic hardcore with heart and soul, wrapped in tire irons and dipped in battery acid.'
"Grandfather's Axe was recorded by Alex Estrada at The Earth Capital (Touche Amore, Xibalba) and mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering (Crazy Spirit, Perdition). The album sees a vinyl/digital release on March 19 via Melotov Records, home to new upcoming releases by The Banner, Vices, and more. Look for Globe and Beast on tour soon." More...
San Diego, California's Globe and Beast announce the release of debut album, "Grandfather's Axe," due out March 19th on Melotov Records. Check out the cover artwork below or listen to the new track "Coexist" at this location. The following press release was issued about the album:
"On 'Grandfather's Axe,' the young SoCal quintet churn out anthemic hardcore, shrouded in gloom. Theirs is a unique combination of vibes: the aggressive meets the dissonant, the crushing meets the dismal. Somewhere between the frontal assault of Buried Alive and the spiraling depression of Kiss It Goodbye or Cursed, songs lurch forward like a wall of black storm clouds devouring all in their path. What makes it thrilling is not only the destructive power but the ominous mood.
"Atop pummeling drums and leaden riffs, frontman Blake Backer's lyrics lay bare his demons. In 'A River's Mouth,' he roars: We move like drones, slaves to a clock... / The monotony feels like a fucking curse / I see uncharted waters up ahead / They're open, they're endless, relentless / Destinations unknown / I hope I find peace, a place to call home.
"Grandfather's Axe was recorded by Alex Estrada at The Earth Capital (Touche Amore, Xibalba) and mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering (Crazy Spirit, Perdition)." More...
