Fit For A King Posts New Song
Two weeks ago, Fit For A King announced a March 12th release date for the band's Solid State Records debut, "Creation/Destruction." The band is now pleased to share a new song from the album titled “Hollow King (Sound of the End)." Head over to Noisecreep.com here to check out the song.
"’Hollow King’ is a very unique track for me, lyrically,” explains vocalist Ryan Kirby. “It's a story of a person that sees his friend slip into the Devil’s grasp because of the ‘God-free’ view he instilled upon him. The person then decides to go after and save his friend, which he does without faith that God can remedy the situation. During his mission to save his friend, he also falls into the Devil’s clutches. Near the middle of the song, Satan is mocking his lack of faith. The friend in the story ends up actually being himself, hence the lyrics ‘staring face to face and eye to eye with the man who abandoned everything’. This song doesn't have a happy ending, giving it a dark vibe.”
The album was recorded with producer Andreas Magnusson and follows several years of relentless DIY touring and an independently released album (2011’s "Descendents"). More...

Fit For A King has spent much of the last year on tours crisscrossing the U.S. and setting the stage for a release through new label Solid State Records. Now, the band is excited to announce a March 12th release date for the album, a pummeling effort entitled "Creation/Destruction," which was recorded with producer Andreas Magnusson (Haste the Day, The Black Dahlia Murder).
To further whet the appetites of fans, the Tyler, TX-based band is premiering the first track from "Creation/Destruction," the crushing track “Warpath,” right now exclusively through Altpress.com here.
“We felt like ‘Warpath’ showed all the different elements this album has to offer,” says vocalist Ryan Kirby. “When the song was originally written we had no intentions of it being a ‘single’ but once we played with the structure and added vocals it instantly became one of our favorites. Plus, we used a clip of the song in the first studio update we put out and got a very good response!”
The Overseer Announces Tour With Fit For A King
Solid State Records label mates Fit For A King and The Overseer are pleased to announce a co-headlining tour in the new year. The rapidly emerging bands will hit the road this January and February, bringing their live shows to fans on the West Coast, Midwest, and Southwest.
“2012 was absolutely the best year in our band’s existence,” gushes Overseer bassist Bradley Riggs. “We got signed, put out our debut record and closed out the fall with an incredible full U.S. tour with August Burns Red. Looking forward to 2013, we’re all stoked to see what unfolds as we look to keep the momentum rolling!”
“We felt like we had a very productive year in 2012,” says Fit For A King vocalist Ryan Kirby. “I feel like we laid a lot of ground work for huge things to happen for us in 2013 and beyond and I’m looking forward to this tour as a part of kicking off the year.”
Joining their brothers in arms fresh off a string of dates with Impending Doom, the Texas based Fit For A King signed with Solid State earlier this year. The band’s Solid State debut is set to drop in 2013. More...
