Aenimus Posts New Lyric Video
San Francisco/North Bay unit Ænimus has unleashed a lyric video for the track "Inertia," taken from the band's forthcoming debut album. Check out the video below. The lyric video for "Inertia" was put together by Ænimus guitarist Sean Swafford, who commented:
"I am extremely excited to release this lyric video for our song 'Inertia.' The idea behind the video is mainly based on the song's lyrical content. I really wanted to do something different from a lot of the lyric videos that I've seen. I wanted to try to visualize the lyrics, so I decided to go with a video that looks more realistic as opposed to most lyric videos that are primarily abstract. This was probably the most difficult video I have worked on so far, due to the tedious work involved with creating the clouds. Being able to finally see the end result, it was definitely worth the time and effort that went into it.
"Since joining Ænimus, I've been doing my part to help to make us as self sufficient as possible. Everyone in this band does something extra on top of contributing to the writing process and continually practicing to improve their skill sets on their respective instrument. In this day and age (in the music business), bands need to learn to wear multiple hats to survive; especially in the metal music scene. It's definitely a lot of work, and we're doing our best to stay on top of it. Anyhow, please do enjoy the video."

Aenimus Streaming New Song "Inertia"
San Francisco/North Bay progressive deathcore unit Ænimus has teamed up with Heavy Blog is Heavy to unleash a brand new track entitled "Inertia," from the forthcoming and currently untitled debut album. Check out the song in the player below or through Heavy Blog is Heavy here.
Guitarist Brian "Deebs" James had the following to say about the writing process for the song and a bit of what fans can expect from the full length: "I am beyond excited to finally release a hint of what is to come and hope everyone enjoys! 'Inertia' was written with an experimental mindset as well as the strong intention of straying away from predictable things many bands tend to do nowadays. I feel like the song turned out exactly how we all imagined which fills me with satisfaction! If one were to base this song off of what the rest of the album is like, I'd say you took an axe to the tip of the ice berg and then just a little bit more..so there's still some curve balls too. We're anxiously waiting to show everyone all of this music we've been working on over the past couple years and look forward to releasing it very, very soon."

Aenimus Posts New Album Studio Footage
San Francisco/North Bay metal act Ænimus has posted a second studio update video online. The second video features lead guitarist Brian 'Deebs' James answering questions about writing, recording, and gear, and also contains brief clips of some brand new tracks. Check out the video below.
Brian checked in with the following update on the recording process: "Hey guys, Brian here just checking in from the studio to elaborate on how the recording process has been going. I would love to be able to say that all the guitar parts throughout the album are nearly finished, but sadly, they are not. You see, a perk of being in a DIY band (in terms of recording anyway) is the fact that we can schedule the recording process around our daily lives.
"The only downside to that is it takes much longer than slamming out a 12 track album in a matter of weeks in some studio, while also keeping in mind that we are a 3 guitar band...and that means lots of different layers! Regardless, things are moving along at a steady pace while allowing all of us to work around our busy schedules. In all honestly, I wish we didn't have work, school, lives, etc. so that we could put this album out tomorrow! All of the songs are turning out awesome, and I am beyond stoked to get this thing done so everyone can finally have the opportunity to listen to it. All of the support and feedback we can get will help us immensely. Whether it be good or bad, it will only help us grow as writers, musicians, and most importantly, people."
The band is currently midway through recording the as-yet-untitled debut album at NB Recording in Santa Rosa, CA with drummer/producer Nick Botelho. The track listing is as follows:

Aenimus Posts In-Studio Footage
San Francisco/North Bay deathcore unit Ænimus recently entered NB Studios in Santa Rosa, CA to begin recording an as-yet-untitled debut full-length album with drummer/producer Nick Botelho. The band will be filming studio video updates throughout the recording process, and each video will contain short clips of brand new material in order to give fans a taste of what they can expect from the forthcoming album. The first clip showcasing Nick on drums can be seen below.
Nick had the following to say about going from writing the album to finally getting into the studio to start recording, "Coming into the studio to record this album is a huge milestone for Ænimus. This is the first full length album all of us in the band have ever written. We just finished writing and recording the drums for it the day before I had to dismantle all the recording gear to take back to my studio. Despite that last minute pressure, I couldn't be more proud of how it turned out. When I first joined the band, I wasn't really sure if things were going the right direction as far as the writing style, especially since two of the main writers of this album, Brian (Deebs) and Josh, had never been in a band together before. Since then we've come to understand each others musical ideas a little better, and our fans will hear that progression of style in the music. Needless to say, we can't wait for everyone to hear this album!"
The track listing for the album is as follows:
1. Asherah's Hourglass
2. The Awakening
3. The Grasp of Ruin
4. Masterpiece
5. Descent Into Chaos
6. Black Malice Construct
7. Black Malice Alchemy
8. Thrive
9. Heavy Lies the Crown
10. Inertia
11. Convictions
