Dead Letter Circus Posts New Music Video

Loudwire today premieres the new Dead Letter Circus video for “I Am,” the group’s latest single from the album "The Catalyst Fire."

The video, which was filmed in the band’s home city of Brisbane, Australia, was directed by Simon Smith and is the sequel to the last video for the song “Lodestar.”

"We are super pumped to unveil the video for our next single I Am," says vocalist Kim Benzie. “The clip, penned by myself and Director Simon Smith is the sequel to the clip for 'Lodestar'. Set in the possible future where people are being systematically divided, emotionally and spiritually in an almost factory farm way, we follow the journey of the boy as he awakens the sleeping mass and confronts their faceless masters."

Periphery Announces "This Tour Is Personal"

Periphery will put the wraps on the most successful year of the band's career with a monstrous North American headlining tour.

The "This Tour Is Personal" trek, sponsored by Jackson Guitars, ToonTrack, Guitar World ,and All In Merch, kicks off on October 11th and also features Born of Osiris, Dead Letter Circus, and Twelve Foot Ninja. Dates are available below.

Misha Mansoor (guitars) states: “We have been having a hard time keeping the details of our upcoming headlining tour package under-wraps because of how excited we are about it. This is mainly because for this trek we will be joined by Born of Osiris, Dead Letter Circus and Twelve Foot Ninja. We felt that having those three bands would add some nice variety, virtuosity and of course virility to the package.

“We will be doing some different tiered VIP packages for this headliner as well, with more specific details on those in the coming weeks. You should make it out to a show because we have not one, but two, Australian bands on this package and we all know what a rarity that is. Also, this will be the last tour on this current album cycle for us, so we won't be back around for awhile. See ya there.” More...

Dead Letter Circus Announces Lineup Change

Guitarist Rob Maric of Dead Letter Circus has checked in with the following announcement about officially parting ways with the band:

"Hey folks,

"As some of you have noticed I have not been in DLC for most of 2012. I'd like to take this moment to let everyone know that I officially won't be returning to the band. I'd like to thank Kim, Stewie, Licka, Scott and Tom for an amazing journey over the last 8 years.

"I'd like to say an extra special thanks to Mr. Kim Benzie (aka Benzel Washington). The friendship and musical bond we've shared since our random meeting in 2004 (no, it wasn't a public toilet) is a rare thing and I feel very lucky to have experienced that. You will always be a role model for hard work, determination and general life ass-kickery. Also not to mention the way you handled some things this year which would have driven anyone else to strangle me. You looked out for me like a true brother and I'll never forget that.

"I'd also like to sneak in a big thank you to Forry, Ev McHugh, Vinnie, Pete, Jim, Rog, Griff, Tonks, Tiff, Stevie, Greg, Adrian, Danielle, AJ, Ernie, Loosh, Owen, Julia, Edwin, Kurt, Ben, Adam, Chantelle, Tyson, Forbes, Jarrad, Cameron Gray, Matt Bartlem and the amazing fans that made the DLC ride possible.

"Love you all (in the most manly way possible). Have an amazing 2013. Peace out y'all." More...

Dead Letter Circus Signs With Sumerian Records

Australian progressive hard rock act Dead Letter Circus has announced that it has signed with Sumerian Records. The label will be re-releasing the band's latest full length "This Is The Warning" on July 26, 2011. The band commented on joining Sumerian by saying:

"We’re all super pumped about our recent signing with Sumerian Records. Their passion for the project was undeniable and really made us feel at home. The release of the record in the United States marks the next stage in our career and we can’t wait to unleash This Is The Warning to the American rock fans.

"Thematically, This is the Warning is a first person account of awakening to the construct that has been put in place in an attempt to control and mold us. However, it’s also about refusing to be a subject of it and forging your own path. We are part of the next wave of bands that grew up listening to rock bands like Tool, Deftones, Soundgarden, Radiohead, Pearl Jam etc., as well as electronic acts like Massive Attack, NIN and UNKLE. While we don’t sound like a mash up of these bands, they have all definitely infused our minds with a love for writing epic, layered and high energy songs.

"The great thing about this genre of music is knowing you are part of the soundtrack to the more intense moments in people’s lives, but ultimately what we live for is the connection and transferral of energy from the live show. Our experience here in Australia is that the songs seem to have resonated with people to a level where it feels like a toe-to-toe standoff between us and the crowd, both seeing who can scream the song the loudest at each other. We are really pumped about taking this to the U.S. and giving a little back for all the amazing music your country has delivered us."
