Cold Announce New Album Title

Cold have set "And a Sad Song Lives On" as the title of their new album, tentatively due early next year via the group's new label, Atlantic. The band will commence pre-production on the CD on October 14 with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Chevelle, Iggy Pop).

Back in April, Cold parted ways with guitarist Kelly Hayes and replaced him with Matt Laughran, formerly of the pre-Cold outfit Grundig. Hayes, who has since joined the Jacksonville, Florida-based "modern rock" band Allele, was the second guitarist to leave Cold in less than six months. Late last year, Terry Balsamo exited the group to hook up with Evanescence. He has since been replaced by former Darwin's Waiting Room axeman Eddie Rendini.

Commented Cold frontman Scooter Ward: "A lot of people wondering what the new record will be like with the addition of two new guitar players. Sam [McCandless, drums] and I were very concerned when we started writing the new record. We wanted to make sure this is more Cold than it's ever been. It is important to us to keep that integrity. So Sam and I locked ourselves up in a room for two months and created.

"I'm shaking a little as I'm writing this because the chills and emotion behind this is insane.

"Matt and Eddie will play on the record and continue to tour with us.

"Sam and I are very proud about this record not only because we did it ourselves its also because Atlantic is being very supportive and excited and letting us be artist again. This record will dominate everything weve ever done. I have never felt like this before about our music. It's a new world for Cold. Me beeing sober now might have something to do with that also. But it's exciting for us."

Released in 2003, Cold' last album, "Year of the Spider", debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 500,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Cold is a musical shot of herioin *Sorry scooter, no offense we all have problems* or a metamoriphical slice through the wrist, for those like myself who need an out in life. This band is my absolute favorite. If you took a minute to read the lyrics and interprite and take them in as have MILLIONS of cold army members, you might understand why these Brilliant Musicians keep going. Its the fans. We love cold. Having talked with the guys myself on a few occasions after shows. I know they dont do this for the money. I doubt they are making much now. But give these guys a chance. and STAY COLD.

If you think Cold's music is "sh**ty", you are just plain ignorant and obviously don't have the ability to appreciate meaningful, emotional, and beautiful music. Buy the new Cold album, they have yet to dissapoint.
