Band Photo: In Flames (?)

French In Flames fan site www.everdying.com recently posted songs from an In Flames tribute album from fans of the band. But due to copyright infringments, the site was forced to remove the songs. The following message has been posted on the fan site:

Due to permanent copyright violation I must do to offer to all In Flames fans, all everdyers, some music of ther fav band In Flames, and due to an email from management that ask me to remove all on this page, video, music, tribute to In Flames by us, nothing can be available to download for now. Mybe I will buy the right to put something ion here.... $$$$ powa :o(
Sometime I want to stop all this work we have done to bring everdying where we are now...

And now In Flames has joined the ranks of Metallica. And I have totally lost the rest of my
respect for that band!

Don't be a fair-weather fan, think about it dude, if you were in a band and you were that sexy, and people started stealing your music and downloading it, you'd be mad too. Just think about it from their standpoint.

Read it again.
It was fans of the band who had done cover versions of their songs. That's an honour. What bull.

Chances are that the members of In Flames have no idea about this situation. Management and record companies usually deal with this sort of thing without the band's knowledge.

I don't see the record company's reasoning though, all they've done is killed off some free advertising and alienated a few more of their fans. Fans who were actually interested in the band enough to bother learning their songs. Fans dedicated enough not to be driven away by Soundtrack To Escape From.

If you think music has been going to hell, you're not looking in the right places. There is an assload of quality music out there, but just don't expect it to come from MTV or a major label.

And unfortunately reject metal will never go away, because most people are rejects.
