Eighteen Visions One Of The Finest Examples Of "Metalcore"
An article has been posted on Bangor Daily News about Eighteen Visions:
"Metalcore" is a term not often heard in these parts when talking about popular music. Aside from the odd college radio show, you're not likely to hear this crunching, fist-pumping hybrid of punk and heavy metal over the airwaves in this area.If you have cable television, you might stumble across a video or two on Fuse or MTV during a late-night channel surf, especially if you happen across the latter channel's revamped "Headbanger's Ball" program.
In any case, this underrepresentation is kind of surprising. From Portland up the coast, Maine has had its own thriving metalcore scene for years, supported by a tight network of devoted fans and a handful of all-ages venues where this kind of music can actually be played, which I hope to check out in future columns.

these genre categorizations start alot of arguments..
Bonescraper101-KsE defintely dont represent everything that is wrong with this crap. They are the exact opposite of what you say. At least thats what me and the other 37,000 people who bought their third album the first week it was out think. They are alot better than 36 crazyfists. Im not saying 36 crazyfists are bad, Im a fan of them as well. And Unearth is pretty good. 18V, I dont really care about.
???-I agree with 'seriously, people have nothing better to do then to make up all these genres.....theres like 1000 of em' ..............why do some people feel the need to categorize not just heavy music, but music in general? (other than some people have nothing better to do) To me, the category of the music doesnt matter. If I think it's good, then I listen to it.

Metalcore is almost absolute garbage. The only bands that represent metalcore truly are Unearth and 36 Crazyfists. They do it right. Bands like Killswitch Engage and 18V represent everything wrong with this crap.
