Debut LP "The Point Of You" By Withem To Be Released As Band Signs With Sensory Records

Norwegian power/progressive act Withem has signed on with Sensory Records for the release of the debut LP "The Point Of You." Withem was created in 2011 by guitarist Øyvind Voldmo Larsen and keyboardist Ketil Ronold (guest on Dimension Act's "Manifestation of Progress" LP). Soon they were joined by the voice talent Ole Aleksander Wagenius and drummer Frank Nordeng Røe (Dimension Act). The bass was performed by special guest Andreas Blomqvist (Seventh Wonder).

Inspired by the likes of Symphony X, Pagan’s Mind, Dream Theater and Circus Maximus, Withem's music offering has "varied sonic landscapes for the listener to explore, whether with its elaborate interplay between all musicians or with straightforward power metal anthems." With a solid online fanbase and several stellar live performances in Oslo and beyond under the band's belt, work was completed on the debut album, which caught the ear of the prog aficianados at Sensory/The Laser’s Edge, who immediately brought the band on board for the release of the new opus.

The album is tentatively set for a late summer release. According to the press release: "The passion and dedication put into Withem’s debut, 'The Point Of You,' is emphasized by the countless hours spent in studio perfecting each individual performance and making sure that the end result is a world class blend of progressive, symphonic power metal, with over fifty minutes of thrills and melody-driven songs, without drifting into the clichés of overly long instrumental sections and sheer complexity for complexity sake. Based on the first impact made by the album teasers and demo tracks, expectations are running high within the progressive and power metal scene."

The band previously posted a sample of the album, which is available over at this location.
