As the holidays approach a look at some packaged DVD/CD sets, new releases on the horizon, and yes, one hard-to-buy-for Christmas recommendation.

Ex-W.A.S.P. guitarist, Chris Holmes, has come out and said that his video for “They All Lie and Cheat” was meant to be a joke and in his words: “To be real bad.” Mission. Accomplished. For those who missed this masterpiece, here it again…

Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row) is releasing a DVD/CD package titled ‘Abacholypse Now.’ Unconfirmed sources report that before setting on the title, the other name tossed around was ‘Chinese Bachocracy.’…

Jon Bon Jovi (Bon Jovi) has called his daughter’s overdose a “tragedy”, but is thankful for all of the support his family has received. Most of his comments have been made while promoting a new film starring Al Pacino and Christopher Walken titled “Stand Up Guys” (Jon supplied some of the music). Pacino has been pretty hit or miss in recent years, but with Walken? That sounds pretty solid to me. Now what happened to Jon’s daughter?…

Despite ongoing lawsuits over naming rights, Queensryche have hired a new lead singer, Todd La Torre, to replace Geoff Tate. This has made for TV movie starring Tony Danza (in a very long wig playing Tate) or Steven Seagal written all over it…

AC/DC made their iTunes debut, selling over half a million songs. Lesson as always: AC/DC can do no wrong…

After writing the new song, “Sex”, for the recent Motley Crue tour, Nikki Sixx says, “I’ve personally been writing my ass off for months now…” Rumored titles of new Crue songs include: “Drugs”, “Guns”, and “Girls, Girls, Girls part II.”…

Def Leppard is the latest band to take up residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. For the show the group is expected to play ‘Hysteria’ in its entirety. No word on whether my ongoing petition to stop the song “Women” from being played live (ever again) will change their plans…

Swedish rockers Hardcore Superstar (the band labeled as inventors of “Street Metal”) have recorded their upcoming album titled ‘C’mon Take On Me’ in an abandoned studio they “stumbled upon.” Congratulations to Hardcore Superstar: The first band to invent “Studio Squatting”...

A Christmas idea for the hard to buy for (or VERY COOL mom): A new EP from the band Superhorrorfuck is titled ‘Gore-Geous Dead’ and will be available 12/21…

Crashdiet has released their song listing for their new album. Predictably there are songs titled “Cocaine Cowboys” and “Anarchy.” What has me excited is the song “Snakes In Paradise”, how they thought they could bury that little nugget at the end of the track listing is beyond me. I’m already giddy at the possibility of a chorus with “I don’t need much to suffice, just my Mother Fuckin’ Snakes in Paradise!” Can we please get a Samuel L. Jackson cameo for the video? That’s really all I want for Christmas…
