Drowning Pool Singer On Walmart Censorship

Band Photo: Drowning Pool (?)
In an interview with Electricbasement.com, DROWNING POOL vocalist JASON JONES derided Wal-Mart for its insistance on a censored cover and music of their recent release Desensitized, "...the record is actually censored too, but you can't make a kid go ride 85 miles on his fuckin' bicycle to go and buy a record. It sucks that they censor it and everything, but at least it's in there. I just don't understand how you can get DVDs there of people dyin' and fuckin' but the record gets censored. It just shows you that those FCC guys are a bunch of cockheads."
However, he admits the band has a weakness for the retail super store, "Yeah, but we love Wal-Mart, and we shop there all of the time. (laughs)"

this is not the first time Walmart has carried an edited album cover.
the other day i was there and i found the new Morriey album and it was just his
face instead of the original cover which was him holding a gun, kinda looking 007ish
if i may say, but they didn't bother editing the back of the new Atreyu cd though.
it has a girl in her undergarments and such. why cover up Drowning Pool and
Morrisey but leave Atreyu?? not to mention other numerous album with what they
would call "disgraceful" covers, these were mainly rap albums though.

but the girl on drowning pool record still had a bikini on....she wasnt naked or anything...what is so wrong about that that it needs to be censored? do they not want society to see a girl in a bikini on a cd cover? what makes them (the fcc/wal mart) think they need to censor this (other than the reason jason jones stated above)? brokenwings13, very true about the rap albums not being censored, as i have seen numerous ones myself...why not bother with the rap? do they have something against hard rock and metal?

yes rue, yes they do, that fact is that she was showing a little too much boobs for
walmarts likning, why?? they sell those stupid lowrider jeans and shirts that
show the person who's wearing thems stomach.
look at the drowning pool cover again, what is the woman in the bikini holding??
i know she's holding something, i can't look because my copy is somewhere
else at the moment.
