Lulu was a dis'ass'turd.
Seriously? I really wonder what they were thinking. I tried finding elements within that cd that I could appreciate...I could not find it.
Debuted # 36 on the Billboard 200 with 13,000 sold. Thats a far cry from the 490,000 that Death Magnetic opened with. $hit...
#9: For me, the big difference between Lulu and Illud (in "epic fail" terms, if not musical terms) is that despite the bandwagon of hate and unwritten rules dictating what I'm supposed to like or dislike, Illud is something I actually rather enjoy listening to. There are some fun songs on there, and some great playing - and I prefer it over at least two other Morbid albums.
The "music" on Lulu, by contrast, is just not even listenable, and in some cases is like nails on a chalkboard.
@Overkill...
I always enjoy reading your posts as you always have something interesting and worthwhile to read.
That said, in regard to Metallica...I think we've both agreed on "Lulu" and I honestly hope that the next true Metallica album will take the... IMO excellent start of "Death Magnetic" and continue to evolve into something brutal and unique.
As far as...Illud?
(Sigh)....I've been with Morbid since "Altars".
Morbid.
Obituary.
Cannibal C.
Deicide.
Those are the four that got me into death metal.
I have no problem with a band experimenting.
I just want the songs to be good.
On Illud?
I've listened to it the whole way through multiple times.
And honestly?
I'd have more fun getting my eye lids pierced than listen to it again.
And yes, "Blades for Baal", "Nevermore" are classic Morbid.
"Radikult"?????
A remix????
Who's the poor artist that got stuck remixing THAT?
LOL.
You enjoy Illud.
That's fine, you're entitled to your likes and dislikes.
After all these years, doesn't cut it for me, sorry. :(
And to go even MORE off topic...
If you were disappointed by the new Morbid.
I'm sorry but I can't help but gush at the new song from Amon (Hoffman's, former Deicide)
New song "Among Us" is you youtube.
Check it out.
This is what Illud should have been.
It crushes anything off "Till Death Do Us Part" or "To Hell With God".
The "Evil" that has been missing from Deicide is back.
Finally, something "classic".
Lou Reed will join them on stage..
Im really glad that i decided never to attend Brownload after going in 2004. Metallica screwing fans over when lars "decided" not to bother turning up for the gig.
people in the UK.. You have bloodstock and a short flight away you have WACKEN where metallica WILL NOT BE
