Bring Me The Horizon Frontman Oli Sykes Attacked On Stage
Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes was attacked onstage during the band's show in Salt Lake City last night (October 3) while on a headlining U.S. tour. Sykes became angry when bottles were thrown onstage in the direction of the band members and called for those who threw them to either leave or come onstage and address him personally. Some crowd members took him up on his offer and attacked the vocalist. You can watch fan filmed footage of the incident below.
Sykes was unharmed by the incident and returned to the stage a half an hour later to finish the band's set.
He later updated his blog with the following about the incident:
Just to clear any rumours… Nothing happened last night apart from a bunch of soft lads stomped on a lil kids head 5 seconds into our set, so we stopped playing, had a bit of a banter with em telling em to do one, then some fatty gets on stage tries to hit me, in which he completely fails, misses and falls over, and then gets sparked out by someone In our touring party. The “crew” then responded by running around the venue, breaking a very young girls jaw and stamping on her, and injuring a few more of our young fans. Proper hard init.
Not a member in Bmth or any of our touring party got so much as a scratch, oh one did want me to know he fucked my wife though, which hit me hard as you know I’ve been happily married for a long time now :)

Bring Me The Horizon will play as the support band on Machine Head's U.K. arena tour later this year with Devildriver and Darkest Hour. The band will then begin work on the follow-up to their third album and hope to be in the studio by summer 2012.

Pretty sad when sh** comes to this. Seems the singer might have encouraged some of the poor behaviour by throwing water or beer back at the crowd,then the invite to come on stage. Be careful what you wish for. Overall,its the clubs security at fault for the melee,should have ejected trouble makers from the get go. I never have any trouble at shows,i dont bother anyone,nobody bothers me. The closest ive seen to this incident was some jackoff rapper called Necro talking smack on one of the Sounds of the Underground tours. Riled up metal heads were chucking water bottles and beer cups at that mouthy tard,he actually deserved it.

So many of these bands wouldn't last 5 minutes during the 1980 - 1984 Punk/Hardcore era.
Not to say that the douches in the crowd didn't deserve any beating they got, but bands like BmtH who egg it on instead of snuffing it out don't help.
At least Rollins of the Black Flag days would've (and has) jumped into the crowd and beat the fvckers up straight away to nip that little problem in the bud.

Yea Branded,he was. Right after theWorcester show i saw i think. He was the rudest,mouthiest wanna be gangster ive ever seen. I was at Rock in Shock in Worcester last year when the crap band Motionless in White has a similar incident where they kept talking $hit to the disapproving crowd of true metalheads that were they. The called one guy up on stage where the keyboardist started to attack him. Well the guy fought back & landed a couple of good hits. I feel it was definitely deserved after the amount of disrespect both them & Black Veil Brides were showing to all the real metal fans there that night.

Wow, just everything about this is amusing. The video, Oli's response, and everyone's comments on here. Well I'm not gonna lie, I actually do like BMTH's music, well some of it at least. But to #32, the 80's metal is way more brutal than BMTH and that's something they pretend to be. Also at any real metal shows you go to this wouldn't happen either because the fans won't take any crap, or because the bands could easily handle it themselves. Also #32, if you rate metal by how many "hot chicks" go to shows, then you're just a poser scene kid who listens to "metal" for popularity.

He used to play guitar in a death metal band, he brings in metal legends as guest on his albums, and his rhymes are twisted. I absolutely love the posts of "tr00 metulheds" when it comes to bands like this. They're not metal, they're an offshoot of punk, and Machine Head has always sucked. It's not worth my time posting here because it's gone completely off the rails, but I'm gonna do it anyways. BMTH are very big jackasses, but their latest album is extremely good, and live they put on one hell of a show. That's simply an opinion, but as someone who has seen his fair share of concerts in every genre, BMTH, Devin Townsend, Explosions in the Sky, Caribou and The Ocean are the bands that I will go out of my way to see over and over. There may be a few others I'm forgetting, but the point is, stop f***ing thinking you're better than the world because you listen to metal. You listen to music, just like the rest of us.
