Damageplan To Host 'Headbanger's Ball'
UPDATE: DAMAGEPLAN will be hosting the Headbanger's Ball on January 24th, not the 17th as previously reported.
DAMAGEPLAN, the new band featuring former PANTERA members Dimebag Darrell (guitar) and Vinnie Paul (drums), ex-HALFORD/DIESEL MACHINE guitarist Patrick Lachman (on lead vocals), and bassist Bob Zilla, will be hosting MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" this Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 p.m. EST. The group's video for "Breathing New Life" has been named the "Headbanger's Ball" "Bang of the Week" and can be viewed at this location.
As previously reported, DAMAGEPLAN's debut album, "New Found Power" (view cover here), is due on February 10 through Elektra Records. The CD was recorded at Dimebag's home studio, Chasin Jason, and was produced by Darrell and Vinnie along with Sterling Winfield (PANTERA, MERCYFUL FATE). Guests include SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor (second verse/chorus and splitting last verse/chorus in "Fuck You") and OZZY OSBOURNE/BLACK LABEL SOCIETY guitarist Zakk Wylde (lead outro on "Reborn" and backing vocals on "Soulbleed").

Wow. Great energy on this album. Extremely kewl playing by Dimebag (would you expect less?)
Vinnie kicks on the drums. Lachman's vocals are extremely good for someone who is just
starting a vocalist career. I bet Phil in superjoint is saying "why did I quit on Pantera?"
A lot of anger, and a lot of songs seem directed at Phil.
Definately expect some great things from this kickass group.
Yeah, Metallica WAS the greatest metal group. Until they started trying too hard
to get thier old sound back. Making your self sound more amateurist than you are
is pointless. St. Anger blew. I mean, Mic up your drums right and you might keep
your fans. even the ones who stayed by you after the haircuts and country tunes
found this one hard to swallow.
