"American hard rockers Staind" ok, there's where you lost me. What is so "hard" about Staind? What is so "hard" about crying in every song? It needs to be changed to:
"American emo rockers Staind"

I love it when douche bags attemt to re-write press releases. After 1st listen, it seems like Staind went back to their roots on this one. I was beginning to wonder if they still had it in em. I'm sure they'll include a whiney a$$ balad, but this was heavier then they've been in some time.

BG1 - aGREED, but I could have done without the chorus. Staind is a case of blowing your wad on your 1st major release (dysfunction)...or just plain selling out.

Over or under on the ballad count: 6 of 10 ???

Yeah I wasn't really expecting that. Maybe because I had become really annoyed with Stained when "It's Been a While" came out. Curious what else they can offer on a new album

Everything after dysfunction has been crap IMO but this isn't bad. At least they're getting a little ballsier.

I like this song - nice and heavy for them again. But their second album had a couple good, heavy songs and the rest was ballad-heavy and too light.

Spiral...I have to disagree. Anything J. Mascus of Dinosaur Jr. does is the best thing to come out of Western Mass. He is the most influential heavy musician from this area ( besides maybe Thurston Moore but who cares about Sonic Youth ). We also have Shadows Fall and the all f**king Black Pyramid.
