Helix Working On New Compilation Album

Canadian hard rock/heavy metal outfit Helix has announced that is currently putting together a compilation album, which is set to include new songs, with the intention of release this Autumn. A message from mainman Brian Vollmer reads as follows:

"Our focus at present is working on projects we already have on the go. For starters, on Thursday morning we all got together at A Studios in London to bang out some ideas on the new tunes before we record ‘em. Some of the ideas worked, others didn’t, but we managed to kick out three rough demos to take home and listen to. This Tuesday we’ll take another crack at it. When everyone is in agreement, then we’ll start recording…

"The plan at moment is to put together a compilation CD for a fall release. We plan on having five new tracks plus songs from When Pigs Fly, Vagabond Bones, and Power of Rock and Roll. This could all change if the songs we’re recording now turn out to be so amazing that we feel we should go with an entire CD of new material. There are several reasons I’ve chosen to go with a compilation CD versus a new CD, but it’s not like my decision is based in stone. We’ll see how it goes…"

Great to see so many of these great metal acts from the 1980s getting back into the game. The only thing I can say to Helix is good luck to them.
