Metallica Drummer Lars Ulrich Lands Movie Role

According to Kyle Buchanan of NYMag.com, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has been cast in a new HBO TV movie entitled, "Hemingway and Gellhorn," which will also star Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen. Ulrich will play Dutch documentarian Joris Ivens in the TV movie, which chronicles the stormy marriage between Ernest Hemingway and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn.
Metallica, along with the rest of the "Big Four" of thrash, will also be headed to Sweden in July for an upcoming live show in Gothenburg. Details on the event are available at this location.

@ 14 hardly going to defend Lars here;because I think for the most part he's a phony f***in d*** ! But... Its far to easy to criticize what he layed down 25 to 28 years ago which I think is unfair. Your still forgetting he was responsible for some genre defining work. He's also nowadays one of those easy targets to bag on like Ozzy. Too easy to critisize his abilities or lack of them measured against todays standards ! His playing is what it is ! I prefer G Hoglan myself but whatever.

Lars must've done like a million takes on MOP and Justice, cause I actually didn't mind some of his parts on those albums. Or probably some studio trickery came into play, but I doubt that. I really don't understand how a person can become worse at an instrument. Lack of practice can be a reason, but 'Tallica have been touring quite a bit. Maybe it's just the coke?
In any case, sh**ty TV movie? Pass.
