Periphery Drummer Uploads Improvised Jam Footage Online
Matt Halpern, drummer of American progressive metal act Periphery, has posted some new drum cam footage online. The footage features Halpern performing a technical improvised jam. Matt Halpern commented on the video by saying:
"So, this one is an improvised jam I did for fun. I'm just messing around and having fun with some random groove ideas here... I've been teaching on this make-shift Mapex kit with the single kick Mapex Falcon Pedal, and I really dig the sound contrast of the drums, and the wallet on the snare makes the attack dry.
"The cymbals are all Meinl Soundcaster Customs... The one on the right is a 20" crash, and the hi-hats are 14.
"Oh [yeah], and this video is for Brandon of Impending Doom!"
