Costa Rican Catholic Church Criticises Marduk

The Catholic Church of Costa Rica has criticised the Swedish black metal outfit Marduk for their use of blasphemy and religious iconography. Marduk are scheduled to perform in Costa Rica at the Pepper Disco on July 29th, which will be the band's first concert in the country in seven years.
Mario Segura, Catholic priest and spokesperson for the Curia Metropolitana, said "they should have more respect because they are sacred things", referring to the band's use of religious articles, like an inverted cross in its album cover art. Segura said he considers that this type of music and message cannot encourage any good in Costa Rica's youth.

Costa rica is a bit nutty anyways, alot of the people, politicaly and now religously...my question is how the hell did they get into the country? Black metal and costa rica i figure would not be a match period.
This band is alright, i prefer dark funneral but good luck to them.

Did nobody read post 8? There really is no reason to go off topic and say "yeah well the Catholic church does this and the Catholics do that." The simple point here is that the church just criticized a band for blasphemy. We don't need to point out/ "defend" anything for Metal's side. The church is just yappin over something they are against, and they always will.
