Shadows Fall, Unearth, and Seemless Members Form Project, Seeking Vocalist

An as of yet untitled project featuring Matt Bachand and Jon Donais on guitars (Shadows Fall), Derek Kerswill on drums (Unearth/Seemless), and Jeff Fultz on bass (Seemless), has begun to take shape. The band has recorded a five song demo thus far, and are actively seeking a vocalist.

"We are looking for one crazy bastard with the energy, the drive, and the determination to take this thing to the next level," says Matt Bachand. Jon Donais adds, "The vocalist we seek should be influenced by a variety of melodically based bands anywhere from Alice In Chains, Shinedown, and Aerosmith, to Skid Row and Pantera.” You must be serious about the position, and must be able to tour extensively. Demo submissions are currently being accepted. Submissions should include a bio and list of past experience, photo, audio and/or video performance, and any other information you would like the band to know.

i like and have liked shads longer than unearth. shads is probably IMO (of course) the only good band of those hybrids of metal/metalcore of shadows fall, unearth, hatebreed, chimaira, etc. all of them just sound the same to me and basically have a monotone voiced singer, which is what rlly discourages me. but i do like hatebreed tho lol

n0thinghead, I actually prefer Chimaira to all of those bands. I feel like most of Shadows Falls music blends together due to the vocals. I love the music of the band, amazing musicians but I feel like Chimaira has more of a diverse set. Just my opinion, I respect yours.

STD (::chuckles::) : yeah man =\ just asking, but do u think devildriver belongs in the same catergory as those bands?? how about lamb of god?? my take: absolutely NOT. both, imo, are groove metal, especially DD. i LOVE how they mix in those jazzy jams into the middle of ending of a song and LOG's obvious blues influence.

I don't think DevilDriver does at all. They don't have as much of the technical aspect compared to the other bands, thus leaving them separated partially. I can see why people would lump them in with these other bands by playing with them and what not.

Lamb of God is questionable because they came along in the same wave of these bands. My Guitar One Magazine from April 2005 has the New Wave of American Heavy Metal and has Slipknot, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, and Killswitch Engage all lumped into that one category.

It's difficult labeling some bands. It's like are they more of a groove metal, metalcore, etc.
